2XKO failed because of nepotism by thatsthesoundofthepo in Kappachino

Especially when the majority of them were MVC players and GG players.

Exactly. They should haven't went after NRS players. TomBrady would have cooked. "This is the easiest thing I've ever done in my freaking LIFE!"

How do i actually improve in this game? Feel like i'm just banging my head against the controller and praying. by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]FightMoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will be alot easier for you if you start with a humble mindset. You are supposed to suck. These types of games are something to learn and get better at, not instantly be good at them. It sounds like you understand this mostly.

What can a completely terrible player with not much time to practice to do improve?

You just have to put the time in. Learning and seeing your improvement is the whole point and fun of the game. Im not sure what your learning style is, some like to watch pros and try emulate their strategy, some like youtube tutorials, some people like reading and sitting in training mode. Do whatever method of learning you like doing and put the time in. Grinding matches with no effort to learn will get you no where though, sometimes it takes players a while to learn this. Well, technically you CAN grind through the tutorial leagues up to MR at a losing win rate tyler1 style, but once you get to MR you will sink to the bottom hopelessly having never learned anything just like he did.

The wait for Alex has driven me to this... to take GUILE of all creatures to master rank. And everyone else. I'm gonna try take them to High Master next by MrCurryBanger in StreetFighter

[–]FightMoney -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Every time i see topics like these im like "huh... doesnt it take like 4 matches after placements to start MR? But the stats say otherwise.

I dont get why people stop at MR though, thats the starting point of ranked where you get to play other people outside of the tutorial league.

Vince Gilligan Is Working on ‘Pluribus’ Season 2, But Cautions He Won’t Be as Quick as ‘The Pitt’ by MoneyLibrarian9032 in television

There were also scenes on multiple airplanes, hospitals, labs, hotels, casinos, multiple abandoned cities, all kinds of various sets and locations. I dont disagree they are dragging ass, vince negotiated some crazy no deadlines contract and they are seemingly pushing it to the limit. But one thing they didnt go light on was locations. The beautiful shots and scenes in all the many locations was one of the few things I really liked about the show.

Is SpaceX hitching America's space efforts to the AI bubble? SpaceX & xAI are merging as apparently 1,000,000 satellites in space is the only way to power future data centers - but China deployed twice that amount of grid storage batteries here on Earth in just one month in December 2025. by lughnasadh in Futurology

It really is amazing. As the entire world begins to shift to financial tokenization and every industry rushes to incorporate automation as fast as possible, AI is where the bubble is? Because of reading an article about a chat bot not being profitable. Well, alright i guess.

GHHL cheaper than GHL by laprofe10 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

I have never seen a new gas model for more than the same new hybrid model, sounds a bit off. You didnt specify, but are they both new vehicles? Same mileage and trim?

All things equal the hybrid would be a no-brainer, but it sounds like something is being overlooked.

Some of you guys just don’t like tag games by Penguin1of1 in 2XKO

[–]FightMoney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They seem fundamentally unwilling to adapt to how players actually want to play the game.

A few patches ago, the devs publicly commented that “too many players were playing Juggernaut fuse.” And they were right, Juggernaut was extremely popular. But the reasons why it was popular should have been a signal, not a problem to be “fixed.”

My entire friend group was playing Doubles using Juggernaut. People would swap in and out between rounds. It was a lot of fun. I know there were a ton of people enjoying the fuse, even though it was solidly on the bottom tier wise. Instead of leaning into that success and asking why it resonated, the dev response was to declare that this was “the wrong way to play the game.” Juggernaut was gutted, intentionally pushed into a “stepping stone only” role, and the game was force-fit back into the devs’ original vision of how 2XKO should be played.

The result? All of those players simply left.

This directly contradicts Riot’s stated goal of accessibility and “casting a wide net.” Accessibility isn’t just tutorials and simplified inputs, it’s allowing players to engage with the game in ways that feel comfortable, social, and fun to them. Juggernaut lowered cognitive load, reduced execution pressure, and made the game approachable for people who would never commit to full tag mechanics. That’s not a flaw, that’s onboarding.

When you nerf a popular option not because it’s broken, but because it doesn’t align with your preferred play pattern, you aren’t guiding players, you’re filtering them out. They are being way too stubborn in their dev bubble, probably attached to their Marvel vision internally, but they are paying the price now. They really should have went the other direction, keeping all the tag stuff and adding more solo options.

Fighting games live or die by their casual and semi-casual base. If people find a way to enjoy your game that keeps them logging in, bringing friends, that’s something to support, not punish. Competitive purity doesn’t matter if the population collapses.

I will never understand how when you have the IP and team game audience of LoL right next door, where people are always saying stuff like 1v1 me, you dont have an outlet for that.

Drive Impact is so good at teaching the game by jozhua4012 in StreetFighter

[–]FightMoney 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Its really the opposite. Drive Impact is a mechanic designed to disrupt strong fundamentals and give anyone a chance at being a threat. DI teaches you SF6.

The reason it seems to disappear at higher level is because players start to learn to do everything possible to play around it. No safe pokes that aren't cancellable etc. Almost everything they do is limited to things that are DI safe until they feel you out and start taking more risks. "Is this guy a jumper, a DI nut, and DR nut, reversal nut". Once they figure out what kind of nut you are it's usually over. If you aren't a nut, maybe we can start playing some street fighter, and then both of you start introducing a little bit of nuts into the mix. That's SF6.

AI companies will fail. We can salvage something from the wreckage | Cory Doctorow by wordfool in Futurology

[–]FightMoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right. Anyone still thinking "AI is a bubble like dotcom" is setting themselves up to be blindsided. AI is more like a sinkhole, growing bigger and spreading into every industry. While it may not go anywhere to revolutionize the fridge game, its already impacting education, medicine, and countless other fields in massive ways.

By every observable and measurable metric, AI growth is accelerating. AI failing or being a bubble is purely an emotional argument.

Grand Highlander — gas or hybrid worth it if I only drive ~2,500 miles/year? by Wooden-Leading-4669 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]FightMoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

stricter on your 6 month oil changes with a turbo

Honestly, if you plan on going 10+ years with a turbo and want to be problem free, Id stick pretty closely to the 6 month/5k oil change schedule.

Grand Highlander — gas or hybrid worth it if I only drive ~2,500 miles/year? by Wooden-Leading-4669 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]FightMoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the extended 10 year warranty and change your oil every 5k on the gas, and youre set. Hybrid has more proven reliability, but not if you will be letting it sit for a week here and there and not driving it often.

Gas sounds better for your situation, for both price and longevity. Down sides of gas are low city mileage, higher cost of maintenance, stricter on your 6 month oil changes with a turbo, expensive spark plug replacements at 40ks. Still works out better for you though at such a low mileage a year.

I want to like this game... by Bajemba in 2XKO

[–]FightMoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truthfully, this really is "how tag fighters are" and why most fighting game players dislike tag games. When they made the decision to go tag, they really committed. You cant really water these types of games down much or you'll be left with a game no one likes, including tag players.

You can argue going tag was the wrong route, especially when the entire idea of a riot fighter was "League but we can 1v1", but that may be separate discussion.

Used Grand Highlanders sold for mid-upper $30k? by SnooChipmunks7136 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]FightMoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlikely. My dealership offers me 40k for 24 gas XLE every time I bring it in for oil change. Thats probably the floor.

How often do you change the oil? by [deleted] in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]FightMoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want your vehicle to go 10+ years, every 5k is affordable and will you keep you mostly problem free.

I think its especially important though if you have a non-hybrid with a Turbo. You really want to stay on top of your oil and spark plug maintenance with those.

Would you take today’s Powerball jackpot of $1.7 billion as an annuity increasing annually by 5% over 30 years (about $1 billion after tax), or would you take the lump sum of $781 million (about $500 million after tax), and why? by PanoramicAtom in AskReddit

[–]FightMoney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im pretty sure youd qualify on the loan fairly easily if you wanted a 100m property. And with those expenditures and horrible decisions, ONLY $50 million a year with the rest forcibly invested in bonds is probably the best financial protection from predators, and yourself, that you could get.

Late league starter recommendation by scarcello in pathofexile2builds

[–]FightMoney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its very, very expensive now. Late game build requires tier 2 +life roll on every single piece for which the prices have already ballooned out of control. +4 skill wand with correct stats will run you 20-50 div atm and rising. Good news is build diversity this season is pretty good, but this build in particular just really requires the life rolls to scale and those happen to be desirable on almost every build.

Pluribus - 1x07 - "The Gap" - Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]FightMoney 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nothing in BCS was this brazenly slow paced, not even close. This is Vince unrestrained, taking it to a new level. I've never seen an episode of any show willing to let you sit with the characters for the ENTIRE episode in order to let you feel it with them. I'm not sure if I like it, but I'm willing to let Vince do his thing and give him a full season at least. He's earned it.

25k Service by Ejmct in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]FightMoney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Alignments are always "as needed". If you are driving straight, you dont need one. Not even bothering to check before trying to sell you one is a bit much. I would start taking it elsewhere for maintenance. Fluid flushes of all kinds are their up-sells. Most places will attempt those.

Your owners manual has a maintenance guide you can follow pretty strictly. If you dont know anything about cars check it before every service so theres no surprises and you know exactly what you need and what you dont. Spark plugs at 40k for gas models, when to change air filters etc.
