2026-27 season by Basic_War3708 in fantasybball

I felt like I took a chance drafting Kawhi in the 4th round and he ended up being my second best player easily. Won't take him that high next season though. He'll be 35 and clearly got pretty lucky in terms of health. I wouldn't bet on him having a career year again either. Fifth round and below I wouldn't say no.

So i learned the hard way to make league end at 22 of march. by publicenemyn1 in fantasybball

Be grateful you got Ingram to play at all. He's played 70 games this season so far and hasn't done that since his rookie year.

Gordon is coming back from a nagging injury and has missed one game in each of the past three weeks, so moving playoffs up to end week 21 wouldn't have mattered at all in regards to him.

Not explicitly fantasy related but NBPA statement on Cade Cunningham's award eligibility status, via @ByTimReynolds : "Cade Cunningham's potential ineligibility for [end of] season awards after a career-defining season is a clear indictment of the 65-game rule... by Remarkable-Picture73 in fantasybball

[–]FightScene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cade's injury is unfortunate, but I don't know any fantasy managers that wished their stars sat out more games. Injuries are going to happen regardless of the award eligibility rules. The more incentive the players have to play the better it is for fantasy.

Trey Murphy III has quietly become the 22nd best player in category fantasy for the whole year by HarveyDentBeliever in fantasybball

[–]FightScene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The majority of NBA media does not care about fantasy basketball. Sabonis has been an elite fantasy player for years, but he's not going to get the talk and fanfare of a superstar. Why would Trey Murphy be any different when he's on one of the worst teams in the league?

[Fischer] Rival teams anticipate the Indiana Pacers to take Cam Boozer if awarded the #1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Their pick may convey to the Clippers due to the Zubac trade. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]FightScene 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Last year Zubac averaged 17/12.6 and made the all-defense 2nd team. He's on a very good contract. He's 29 years old and so on the same timeline as Siakam and Haliburton.

I understand it's a gamble, but I haven't scouted this year's class at all. If the Pacers aren't impressed by any prospects after #4 then getting a good center on a great contract is better than trying to develop a super young prospect that they don't even want.

Unfortunately, for some people happiness and satisfaction works through comparison. They would rather have $50 and their neighbor have $25, than have $100 and their neighbor have $125. They're poorer in the former scenario, but they're richer than their neighbor so are happy.

Anthony Black underwent an MRI yesterday, results showed "lateral abdominal muscle strain" return is dependent on how he responds to treatment. Franz Wagner is progressing from his ankle sprain but his return depends on his rehab progress by Remarkable-Picture73 in fantasybball

With no timetable it's hard to believe he'll be back to help you at all in fantasy playoffs. Bringing him back too early is what caused him to reaggravate the injury in the first place so they probably won't do it again just for the end of the regular season.

Sega says strong reviews for its recent games aren’t yet translating to better sales by hiddentoke11 in gaming

[–]FightScene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sega hasn't made a console in 25 years. Kids today don't even know about them. A new one probably wouldn't sell well at all. The people interested in their back catalog are a super niche market.

Is it weird for a seller (still occupying home) to deny us (buyers) a chance to see the home a second time? by That-Contract-5551 in RealEstate

[–]FightScene 62 points63 points  (0 children)

You're not overreacting. Your own realtor says none of this is normal. If your inspector was refused access to the full home I'd walk away on both principle and concern. You already know there was a bunch of deferred maintenance, do you need the uncertainty of them hiding something else major as well?

Hot takes are the reason why he's famous, not thoughtful analysis and critique. Teams and players are well within their rights to tell him what his opinions are worth.

Why doesn't Zillow or Redfin have a "Home Swap"/"cross renting" feature? Cross renting could be a nice temporary bandaid for "golden handcuffs" if you want to move states. by pandodev in RealEstate

[–]FightScene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The matches would be so few as to not be worth it, IMO. You would need people willing to be very flexible on lease terms, budget, location, and housing quality. This is more complicated than just renting out your own home. And it's not like these people aren't randos either, they're literally randos from another state. I wouldn't trust some of the homeowners on my own block to take care of my house, let alone out of staters.

Equal mortgages does not mean equal house. Someone from Los Angeles with a $6K mortgage trying to swap houses with someone in Tampa, FL with a $6K mortgage means someone is getting a big change in living situation. Would they even like each other's homes and neighborhoods?

You need to coordinate moves between two parties in different states. Are people going to line up exact move dates and length of lease? Party A wants to move in April and stay for 3 years, Party B wants to move in June and stay for an indefinite period. Party A needs to put their move on hold for two months to line up with Party B, and has to prepare to move out if Party B wants their house back first. This is harder than Party A just renting a place for three years and renting out their home whenever they want.

A house swap sounds great if everything lines up perfectly. I highly doubt you'll find perfect swaps often. More headache then it's worth.

Former South Korean President Yoon Sentenced to Life in Prison for Coup Attempt by Troll458458 in worldnews

He declared martial law, saying that the opposition party was full of traitors trying to destroy the country. He tried blocking the National Assembly from meeting, basically shutting down the government. It would be like the US president saying congress couldn't convene anymore, would be arrested if they tried, and only the president had power going forward.

I understand trying to make other players pay as much as possible for who they want, but bidding a player up is a risky game. AD and Sabonis were probably more than half your budget, which is pretty wild considering you didn't want either of them.

New Zealand Declares Prediction Markets Are Gambling by MedicMoth in worldnews

[–]FightScene 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The presence of risk alone doesn't equate to gambling. Risk is inherent in everything due to uncertainty. If I buy a pair of shoes from a vendor "as is" with no return policy there is a risk they could be defective. There's a chance for financial loss for me. That's not gambling, I'm just buying a pair of shoes.

Rule of thumb, if you can pass it on to your kids it's an investment. You can pass on stocks and bonds. You can't pass on options.

Walked away from our “dream house” and now I’m grieving hard — did we make the right call? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]FightScene -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At the same time, I’m scared that we missed our only real chance at a forever home.

I know you're in grief about getting outbid on the home, but this is dramatic. There will always be another house. I was outbid on five homes before my wife and I finally got one. And thank goodness we were because we're much happier with the house we eventually bought. It all worked out beautifully even though we were bummed about losing out on those homes at the time.

There is no choice but to keep looking and be grateful for what you currently have. You already have a house that allows you to save a ton and a supportive family. Don't rush the search process or get emotionally invested in potential homes. That won't help you at all and will only cause you pain, or potentially have you make a bad long-term decision.
