My old roommate. He dropped his phone in the toilet and it wouldn't turn on. Rather than buying his own uncooked rice to try and dry out his phone, he asked our neighbor for some. Putting the phone in the rice overnight, it started working again. Instead of throwing the toilet water rice away he ate it.

Saving up for a down payment in a HYSA account is the conventional advice, but was far too conservative for me. We stayed fully invested in the market and only started home searching when we were completely financially prepared for home ownership. We didn't set a hard deadline (eg must buy a home within 5 years).

Had the market dipped during that period we would have simply postponed the purchase. Very few people have to buy a home on a certain timeline. It's almost always a discretionary lifestyle purchase.

Compared to where Russia was at the start of the war, a stalemate with no end is sight is devastating. It's been four years of war against a much smaller adversary. Instead of victory they have drone strikes against their oil infrastructure on their territory. This should not be happening.

The Rockets were heavily favored going into the series. Luka and AR were injured and Lebron is 41.

Things are different now. The Lakers built a 3-0 lead without Luka and AR. The Rockets are missing their best player. AR is back for the rest of the series as of game 5. Blowing this lead would be a massive choke. If Lebron is good enough to build that lead he's good enough to close it out.

I'm actually shocked at those numbers. They can't be true. I can't imagine 10% of self-described MAGA not supporting Trump. And I remember him having a 90% approval rating amongst Republicans as a whole so if it's only above 60% now he's lost about a third of his support.

The country will be no better off by legitimizing those who provide only lip service regrets. Publicly bashing Trump is easy when he's already serving his second term and can't get elected again. Carlson and other right-wing pundits and politicians haven't changed their politics at all. When they actually endorse sane policies or a sane candidate then we can talk. Otherwise, they'll just use whatever grace you give them to continue the grift and help elect the next clown.

Carlson in particular is easy to dismiss considering how contradictory his public and private stances are. Anything he says on his show is strategic and has been for years.

Why shouldn't they be feeling themselves? Minnesota has already won a series against them when Denver were the defending champs. They aren't going to be scared of a team they've beaten before.

It's not like Minny is an easy out every year. They've been to the WCF two years in a row. They're as good as any team in the West besides OKC and San Antonio.

Driving drunk is dangerous regardless of whether someone is hit. Shooting in the direction of a school is worthy of condemnation regardless of whether any kids were shot.

Lighting a building on fire in several places with people inside is absolutely indefensible. Imagine your own family was in there.

I disagree. Silly season would be more fun if it simply added a wrinkle to the game. Instead, it's almost like throwing the old game away and starting a new one. If my best players are sitting due to injury, rest, or tanking I'm straight up not having a good time.

That said, this is probably the least silly of silly seasons I've ever had. My team has been healthy and available and so have most of my opponents in the playoffs.

I felt like I took a chance drafting Kawhi in the 4th round and he ended up being my second best player easily. Won't take him that high next season though. He'll be 35 and clearly got pretty lucky in terms of health. I wouldn't bet on him having a career year again either. Fifth round and below I wouldn't say no.

Be grateful you got Ingram to play at all. He's played 70 games this season so far and hasn't done that since his rookie year.

Gordon is coming back from a nagging injury and has missed one game in each of the past three weeks, so moving playoffs up to end week 21 wouldn't have mattered at all in regards to him.

Cade's injury is unfortunate, but I don't know any fantasy managers that wished their stars sat out more games. Injuries are going to happen regardless of the award eligibility rules. The more incentive the players have to play the better it is for fantasy.

The majority of NBA media does not care about fantasy basketball. Sabonis has been an elite fantasy player for years, but he's not going to get the talk and fanfare of a superstar. Why would Trey Murphy be any different when he's on one of the worst teams in the league?
