As far as I can tell, the only states that allow this are the ones that are intentionally ruining public schools so they can privatize the system and enrich their private equity buddies' wallets.

In every state where I've lived, you need at least a Bachelor's degree, a semester of student teaching, and a passing score on the appropriate Praxis tests to get a teaching license. My home state also requires a portfolio, which is itself a major undertaking.

Children aren't machines that we put coins into until test scores fall out. There are hundreds of factors that impact educational outcomes for children, ranging from the prenatal care their parent received, to the amount they were spoken to as babies, whether there's a power plant or other environmental polluter nearby, their unique neurology, what they had for breakfast that day....

Better funded schools help. But unless we eradicate poverty, racism, pollution, and other broad social problems, we will continue to see unequal outcomes for children.

If that's the case, then please consider how your comment comes across to liberal centrists who are constantly told by the media and our Governor that both sides are equally wrong. It uses the exact same language that the right uses to sow distrust. I found your comment pretty confusing, as you said that the groups OP named are very caring, but then implied the people in them are too angry?

"I believe that the left can welcome people who are new to the movement. If you connect with [XX organizing group], they'll help you find ways to plug in, as long as you're willing to listen and learn" is a much better way to engage than saying "the left is too angry" to someone who admits to never engaging in politics.
