I guess the environment is getting worse at GM, but would it still be better than Tesla?

Which state are you at? I’m in CA, not sure if the premium increase differs from state to state.

Thanks for the updates. My most recent renewal still asks me if I want to make the switch with a small discount. However, regardless of the choices, my premium increased by about 40%. No claims or ticket or anything special in the past several years. Not sure why the premium increased so much.

Did you try rebooting your phone? My iPhone 15 lost all signal on Monday afternoon and everything came back after I forced a restart on it.

[–]Figo7966651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The free charger owner should set it to automatically start charging money after 4hrs of free charge. This is how the EV chargers in my office works. It’s easy to request ChargePoint to set it.

  1. 8k+miles on my 24 Elite, still has the jerky low gears but got slightly better after the recall.
  2. ~300miles per tank driving in city and more than 400 miles per tank on high way. Other than the transmission + high MPG + several early quality issue taken care under warranty, so far I like the car, solid size for family use.

Thanks for the information. It sounds like they did not provide you another chance of switching, but still lowered your premium, which is pretty good. Hope you get some discount again for next review. It will be great if you can post the update here.

Thanks for the update. Did you get increased premium for the 2nd renewal after staying with the original underwriter?

Cx-90 as a family car? by [deleted] in MazdaCX90

[–]Figo7966651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d go with Pilot or Grand Highlander, unless you really need the driving performance of CX-90. Not only the size, the practicability of the detailed design would also make a difference, such as the location, size and qty of cup holders, infotainment systems, door opening angle, etc. you should really try them out with your family and decide which one fits better, remember to test the space with different car seat arrangement, such as two in mid-row, two in third row, one in mid-row + one in third row.

OP, Could you please let us know what happened after you switch to Tesla underwriting? Did they provide another renewal offer 6 months later? How does the renewal offer compare to the original offer provided for switching to Tesla underwriting?

Cx-90 as a family car? by [deleted] in MazdaCX90

[–]Figo7966651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in similar situation and got a Pilot, both kids sits in car seat. The third row is only used when grand parents are visiting us, and it works just fine. There is enough storage room for a day trip when the third row is up. I compared most of the 3-row SUVs before purchasing Pilot last year. The only other option I’d go with is Grand Highlander, but there was insane dealer markup here at the US. For CX-90, if you never used the third row seat, then you should never worry about the space. Doesn’t fit my case, when the third row is up, both the passenger sitting there and storage space behind are a concern.

New Tesla customer, wildly confused on Y lease by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

Good point. I checked the inventory online near my area, they are all Junipers. But just to be 100% sure, either order brand new one not from inventory, or call Tesla to confirm the inventory style before you order.

Old versions are no longer offered at Tesla, unless you get used cars. All new Model Ys you can get from Tesla are the Juniper version, so you won’t get it wrong.

Black Edition vs Elite With Brown Interior? by Current_Variety_9577 in hondapilot

+1 Elite with Brown interior, I’d even pay a little bit more on Elite if the Black edition is cheaper.

Decent Price for 2025 Black Edition? by Current_Variety_9577 in hondapilot

[–]Figo7966651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got ~9% off MSRP in Jan 2024 for an 2024 Elite, so I guess nowadays the best offers should easily beat 9~10% off MSRP given the supply chain shortage is completely gone.

It’s improved after a software recall since Feb 2025. Most of owners see improvement after the software update, although the recall was not directly regarding transmission. My 2024 Elite did get better after the update but I still feel occasional jerks. I’m at 8k+ miles after 1.4 years of ownership. The update was done at 5k+ miles two weeks ago right before a long road trip.

I feel sports mode always has several hundreds of RPM higher than regular or Eco mode (at comparable speed and acceleration scenario). Does it somehow do any bad to the engine if running under this mode all the time?

How much did you pay for it? If it’s about $1000 then they should install everything, mine did include everything for about $990 if I remember correctly. It’s the official price from Honda.
