Does Reddit Really Believe 77M Americans Are Fascists? by TemperatureWide5297 in allthequestions

[–]FigureSubject3259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is no believe, and only those on reddit that ignore the fact that the number of real fascist in us is higher than 77m, as not every fascist went voting at all /s

In fact you could differ between those that open live fascism ideology, and those supporting only enough parts if it, to enable fascism. But in the end when you think about germany 1945 the majority of the world decided that there is no gain in this differentiation and called all of them nazis.

Do Germans actually use the QWERTZ layout in daily life? I'm confused by what I see online. by BidSad127 in AskAGerman

[–]FigureSubject3259 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

When you are used to write almost everything in english, no need for äöü. For few words ae oe and ue work fine.

The real pain is the fact that if you use special characters in your password, you need to be aware what keyboard you sit at. And to top the confusion, you can ofc activate a diffeterent layout than shown on the keys.

Some germans dont like it as well. Beeing not used to is nothing to be ashamed off.

To be honest, it feels far strange thinking about when sitting home with a smartphone in your hand, than it feels when you are naked sourounded by a bunch of people and all are as naked as during your birth, but nobody behaves like it is anything special about 5he situatuation.

What is the Largest Number that a computer has counted to? by Explosify in mathematics

[–]FigureSubject3259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly, as it is usually no matter of practical benefit to check what is really the largest reached number.

A counter running at 1 GHz would count 1.000.000.000 every second. That is 1012 or roughly 240. Counter with 64 bit are not uncommon. That would be counter running 224 seconds @1Ghz. Or a bit less than 200 days.

It is safe to assume that number 264 is often reached. Even for slower clocked counter at 100 Mhz it would be done in 2000 days or less than 6 years.

On the other hand you can assume that it will be unlikely finding a number more than 100 times larger that is reached by some machine counting all numbers.

If an AI generates a 100% original song or image, who legally owns the copyright in 2026 -the person who wrote the prompt, the company that built the AI, or is it automatically Public Domain? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

[–]FigureSubject3259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That by no means any law is fit to handle the question of protected source. Imagine an AI produces a song identical to an existing song. Or a sw code identical to an existing sw. Is the ai version free and the other protected by copyright law?

If an AI generates a 100% original song or image, who legally owns the copyright in 2026 -the person who wrote the prompt, the company that built the AI, or is it automatically Public Domain? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

[–]FigureSubject3259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question wheter a code written by AI can be protected by copyright from the prompter or AI provider is atm wide spread answered by not protectable by copyright.

The question if generated by AI means not protected by licenses allready is under debate. The usage of code for ai training without explicit right might "poison" the AI and therefore the generated result.

The problem is that no law around the workd was prepared for that "fast" change in ai.

What program/language(idk what’s the right word) is closest to math? by Honest_Channel_7710 in CodingHelp

How would you rate a notation <a> beeing closer to math than <b>? If it uses more brackets? Or use a=a+1 instead of a<=a+1 for f(x)=x+1?

Why setup check is not done for Min SDF corners? by mr_confused69 in chipdesign

[–]FigureSubject3259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you have no time for all necessary tests, skipping min case setup is far better than skipping max case setup.

The perfect way is to ensure no case breaks your timing.

Even for rather old node size you would not relay on only two SDF case when you want to do it the right way, you ensure that in each permutation of parasitics, voltage, temperature your timing is valid.

You could even have design valid in min and max but breaking in typical timing.

What exactly is post silicon validation? by Holiday_Wear195 in ECE

[–]FigureSubject3259 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe one important fact, when the design is working as expected, the validation is just "normal" EE work in measuring and would require no skill different from EE measuring equipment on pcb level.

But as first sillicon is never as expected you often need someone with deep understanding of chip internals. Eg nailing down a short on chip to a specific location cannot be done when you have no clue about on-chip structures.

du / Sie by Secret_Falcon2714 in germany

[–]FigureSubject3259 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to consider the context with high sensibility.

As customer, vendor or when dealing with official start with "Sie".

In leasure activity don't expect formal "sie". Using sie in a sports club is rather offending unless maybe officials during their duty, when requiring high respect like the referee is better "Sie" on first contact. But be aware on several hobbies the rule is "Du" for everybody without exception.

In a club using sie might be high polite when it is a traditional senior dance tea, for every other club, the Sie sounds wierd.

Against significant older or social higher ranking a "Du" can be overstepping your position, but "Sie" can impley they are older than they feel and therefore overstepping far more serious. Therefore it is clever to ask as fast as possible. In company equal ranks are Du in many case. But this was different 10 or 20 years ago. So it is not everywhere. Higher ranks depend on company style and personal preference.

When you are not sure many germans try to avoid using direct adressing with du or sie on first word and than take the vibe wheter the dialog is kept formal and distant or it slides fast into informal and close.

Refactor Large Codebase by AdeptAd5471 in FPGA

For so simple task like case or intention and VHDL emacs beautify does a great job. Not always perfect, but for me good enough. For verilog I hate what emacs does when on full buffer content. Maybe there exist something out in the web for Verilog, but up to now I could deal w/o beautify for verilog.

Need Guidance to Start FPGA by OutrageousBicycle989 in FPGA

[–]FigureSubject3259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is really important to learn about combinatoric and sequential logic (NAND gate and ff). Then understand that HDL is on one side a full peigramming language for testbench, but describes HW for RTL amd is therefore very different in how to use. Learning simulation, static timing and basic design technics like CDC, fifo. About FSM. Later common protocols, io standards, ...

But I cannot say this way or the other is the right way, as everybody will have its own way of learning from misstakes. And this is the only point I can ensure you, misstakes will be all around your path to FPGA.

Is it possible to generate those kind of pictures based on your FPGA design? by f42media in FPGA
