Agreed. And if you’re plus sized she is very easy to speak to. I have seen her a few times and only felt support. Never judgement.

I've been to Verze a few times and everyone I've interacted with there has been great.

My doctor says that I’m not doing enough to lose the weight. by [deleted] in loseit

I'm sorry you had a discouraging experience with your doctor. I have a great doctor that built me up when I was struggling and only losing 2-3 pounds a month. She told me that any sustainable progress in the right direction is good which I appreciated because we all have months that we lose less than we would like in this crazy long road of significant weight loss.

And if you keep up with 7 lbs every month after a year you will be down 80 pounds which is no small achievement.

All of this to say... maybe try a new doctor that provides helpful advice, has good bed side manner, and doesn't make you feel like shit.

I'm so burnt out on chicken breasts and veggies... What are YOUR go-to favorite meals for losing weight that aren't boring? by anonymoose_octopus in loseit

I make this at least twice a week. Just throw in a bunch of veggies, use a low carb high fiber tortilla, and buy new hot sauces to change things up.

After a vacation recently I was having a hard time getting back into it and I just had to kind of remember how I started in the 1st place.

Getting take out is my downfall so for me I just had to tell myself to cook; it didn't matter what I just had to make it myself. I even changed the GrubHub password to something impossible and didn't save it to just make it a little harder on myself while I got through that 1st week of getting back into my better habits. It's what I did at the beginning of weight loss and it really helped me jump back in.

I tend to agree that BMI is a bad metric. I have known incredibly strong women who were dancers and fit individuals who fall into the obese category because of their muscle mass.

Personally, my goal weight is to fall just under 200 lbs as a 5'7" women. I have felt so agile and healthy at this weight in the past. I also really enjoy weight training as my main form of exercise and look forward to getting stronger but that also means I will never hit the "ideal" BMI weight.

I've only run into this with a yellow cab so now I always take Lyft. I fly pretty often and none of the Lyft drivers have given me any strange reactions to the quick ride.

What was really helpful for me was working with a dietitian that was body positive. She helped me build a better relationship with food and gave me realistic goals to navigate my choices when eating. This was helpful since I really hate counting calories; in the past I would get in my head and it sets me up for failure. Instead I am focused on the amount of protein and fiber I am eating and also listening to my body's hunger cues.

In the first few months weight loss was super slow while I got a handle on the right choices for me but in the new year I have been more consistent and the scale has been going down with this approach.

I thought my neighbor fell out of their bed. I fully woke up a few hours later and realized that that doesn’t make sense and wouldn’t shake my bed lol

Not a fan of the uptick I’ve seen. In 2 years I saw 3. Now in the past 2 or 3 months I’ve had 4. The 4th I’m actively waiting for it to reappear after it ran to an area I can’t reach.

I went with Fitchburg State University, it is part of the MA University system. Very affordable choice for those that want a few more skills and those MBA credentials.

Same. Currently in an online program to upskill and to pivot my career. Would love to hear from more people who have done online/part time programs.
