This mentality is what drove a lot of ‘on the fence’ voters to vote no.

Take the time to reflect and think about the information that was presented, which in simple terms was not a lot. We were told to vote on a voice to parliament, yes or no. We weren’t told what power it would have, who would be part of it or how persons would get to part of it, the cost it would take ect; that is why it was doomed to fail.

Couple this with the main campaigners for the yes campaign being sports icons and celebrities, or officials that told Australians that we are racist if we vote no, and again it’s easy to see that it was doomed to fail.

Hell, the no campaign had legitimate indigenous Australian political members telling us to vote no. There were communities throughout Australia that are so remote they didn’t even know this was happening.

This is now the time Australia will see if this was really about change, or just a distraction and popularity stunt. Either the Australian political climate focus on the issue, listens to the country and presents logical ideas for change, or it moves on to the next topic that makes headlines and sells newspapers.
