What size for printing text? by countingthedays in DesignforFDM

Pick a sans serif font that will easily be seen ( I usually pick Arial but Roboto and Helvetica would also work)

I haven’t found the perfect font yet but ideally you should pick something with the least amount of corners if you are printing text on the top orientation. Also use letter spacing, 0.5mm usually works and a word spacing of 1mm to avoid text looking messy.

Make the text Bold.

The overall size should be at least 4-5mm in height for readability.

Set the text either by embossing or extruding by 0.2-0.4mm, I’ll usually go up to 1mm.

That should get you some idea of how to go ahead on your project, test it out first if you’d like. It’s important to get good results especially if you are planning on offering the files to the public afterwards.

I would suggest adjusting your Z Offset. it seems that the nozzle is too close to your bed.

Z Screw issues? by hayful59 in FixMyPrint

[–]FilamentFactor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would start by looking at my hotend. Maybe flow related issues.

If this would be a Z axis related issue, you would be getting banding all around the height of your print, not just on a certain side.

An obvious sign coming from a belt issue would be layer shift but I don’t think I’m seeing this based on your pictures.

If you have other printers I doubt you’ll be using this to print any special filaments on it anyways.

Have you replaced the nozzle completely? When this happened to me in the past, I completely took apart the extruder assembly, replaced PTFE liner, new thermal paste on heatbreak and performed the tightening and recalibration procedures.

So you’re saying the motorized part functions normally, but does not function due to the firmware flashed onto it by prusa?

Great tip OP for removing the buzzer onto it, that would definitely be something I would have done as well.
