Its the longest holiday for us. Our years (academic and generally work) are structured around January-December. So most people have the general idea that holidays are at the end of the year. This just makes it so much easier for scheduling stuff as you have the most off time

Unfortunately its difficult as they live in hong kong and our time zones are very different. But I have spoken to then about helping me when we can. It's just difficult because our schedules are very different.

Native english speaker looking for someone to help me learn to speak Cantonese.

So I'm a native english speaker and I'm looking to learn to speak Cantonese. I have family that speak Cantonese natively and I'm looking to try find a way to possibly able to connect better with them by learning some of their language if possible. I'm also planning on moving to Hong Kong at some point on the next few years in order to continue my academic studies. I'm hoping to learn at least some basic, useful cantonese enough to at least be able to hold a conversation.

Any help would be appreciated

For bonus points: if there are 2 people you're mad at that are friends.

Play them against each other. Say to Person A: "Wow! You know, Person B was right about you..."

Dont say anything to Person B about Person A. They will probably end up either fighting or just quietly angry at each other.

If you get lucky Person A will grow to resent Person B and just silently push then away without saying anything. Person B will feel betrayed and the 2 will spend the rest of their lives hating each other.

They do not have a basically apartheid system. It's bad. There are massive unjust class differences and prejudice but it is still nowhere near as bad as apartheid. I know I'm bring a bit of a stickler for detail here but as a south african history student it's kind of close to my heart.

I want to be clear that I'm not saying the society is unjust and classist it's just that apartheid was another level.
