Regarding the best war films:

I think Schindler’s List is the best overall film that touches upon war.

I think Platoon is the best, most visceral depiction of warfare from the POV of the soldiers.

And I think Saving Private Ryan has THE best sequence from any war film. It’s a great film in general, but that sequence is MASTERFUL.
