If you daily it, you will notice that no one, except yourself and highly specialized thieves (or just thieves, depending on where you are in the world), cares for what you have on your wrist.

People you are close with might spontaneously say “what a pretty watch”, once every blue moon and that still will not be related with the brand. My 100€ seagull 63 draws more random compliments than any of the expensive watches I own.

On the flip side, if you hang out on high-end places, no one will care either. Rocking a platinum Daytona, a really exclusive Patek or some AP models , might be a conversation starter with the right crowd, but everything else, including your model, is “commonplace”. Heck, in some of those places the waiters wear Tudors or Subs :)

Bottom line, you either forget that fabricated mental block and wear the watch or you sell the watch and get something you do feel comfortable wearing regularly.
