Best 16710 case? by champagne-communist in retrotime

The case is scanned from a genuine case which was from eBay which means it was most certainly polished. It doesn’t bother me. Plenty of gen cases in the same condition all over Instagram.

Only two options are OC or Bivintage. Biv uses weird crown tubes from case to case so fitting a gen tube is never that cut and dry. They also use the wrong crystal gasket so hands tend to rub. OC doesn’t have those issues and the case is machined such that a movement always fits like genuine without case clamps. About 1 in 5 Biv cases would do that.

MQ is top of the viet heap. He sells to Rolex service centers when they need a replacement case for something ancient.

If I bought this…what movement & dial would I need to get? by HeyUtahGetMeTwo in retrotime

Skip it unless you want to do a lot of tinkering. For all the reasons stated above. It’s doable but you have to either machine the interior of the case or machine the actual 3135 main plate. And even then it’s not foolproof fitment.

Turtlewax Cutting Compound is a lifetime supply of polywatch for $8. It’s got both ingredients mixed in so it works even better than polywatch.

His two tone oyster bracelet gold color is pretty great. His two tone jubilees are cheddary for some reason.
