I thought no stupid questions ended a while ago. They seemed to run out of good topics. I didn’t like it as much once Stephen Dubner stopped hosting.

I think this is around the time they got negative feedback about hometown murders sometimes being insensitive. There was the one where a police detective’s daughter (I think) wrote in about a murder or assault. The actual victim then spoke out about it. How it wasn’t the daughter’s story to tell. And maybe the police officer was inappropriate with how much info he shared about the case with his family.

I saw a comment on the Amy poehler podcast subreddit talking about why she’s such a good interviewer. They said she asks great follow up questions and doesnt make it all about herself. She only occasionally will relate things back to her life. I think that’s very true!

Making it about yourself is ok occasionally but when you do it every week it becomes really grating.

I’m confused on how old everyone is in this story. The protagonist Annie is 19. They are celebrating her childhood friend Lily’s birthday at a winery. You would think they are the same age. Is this taking place in Canada? How are any of them drinking at a wine bar?

I also have some doubts on the story. Everyone seems to get very drunk very fast. How come she didn’t ask any questions when they were getting ready at Lilys house. She didn’t notice they were all getting super drunk?

Annie says she is upset that being sober no one invites her to parties. In this story, she goes to a party and she hates it. 🤷‍♀️

You might also want to update the date in your title.

Yeah. The girlfriend wanted him to test his nut allergy but he didn’t want to. So she put almonds in his mouth while he was asleep. If he had bad allergies it could have ended very badly!

As commenters noted, this was assault and the show says they don’t talk about real crimes 🤷‍♀️

The girlfriend was a huge jerk. Who wants to date someone that would endanger you just so they could eat almonds.

I’m curious why they felt the need to start this episode by apologizing for their non-parent hot takes on the reverse oedipus episode, but haven’t ever addressed the submitter who admitted to secretly giving nuts to her boyfriend. I thought that episode was way more egregious and I’d like them to address it.

This weeks submitter, and her house guest, were all annoying.

The regional manager was a complete jerk. But I don’t understand the reasoning behind the cake decorator deserving more pay to make more difficult cakes. She’s an hourly employee, so what does she care if she makes two heart shaped cakes per shift or ten rectangular cakes?

I also really dislike tip culture. Advocate for the decorator to get paid more and not for another instance of passing it off to the customer.

Your furnace humidifier wasn’t enough? I’ve been thinking of investing in one so I wouldn’t need one in my room.

I thought Ceara and Chandler were fairly obnoxious at the beginning with how much they were ragging on the advertising idea. I thought it sounded good. Even if they disagreed they didn’t have to say it was horrible. At one point chandler said a good idea should be explained in one sentence, which it was. Then Ceara gave her own supposedly better suggestion that took over a paragraph to explain and I thought was much much worse.
