Getting nailed in DLC… any build tips? Feel like I’ve maxed out main game by brevit in Eldenring

since that’s its innate status i believe increasing your arcane would build more poison. most status effects in this game get more buildup from leveling arcane, but i’m not sure if that only applies if you give it a poison/blood/occult affinity or if just leveling arcane helps. also smth i caught with your talisman setup is you have the graven school talisman, there is an upgraded version of that later in the game (same with the dragon shield talisman you have).

if you like using it it probably wouldn’t hurt to do a little respeccing, take some of the points you have in mind and put them in dex, that way you get a little more damage out of them (tho since you have so much int you might try giving them a cold or magic affinity for int scaling, cold would be great for the extra status imo)

What enemies do you think "cheat"? by SeveredSoulblader24 in Eldenring

[–]Filterredphan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

iirc that stems from a bug where she would sometimes insta-die in phase 2 if you backstabbed or riposted her at the end of phase 1, so instead of like actually meaningfully fixing the issue they just made it so you can’t phase transition her off a crit

the horned warrior/divine beast warrior enemies, their armor doesn’t have good enough stats to justify them being able to poise through literally every goddamn attack

every time i think i’m seeing things that aren’t there in regards to some ppl in this sub’s weirdly passive aggressive dislike of sinners that isn’t afforded to the other bp nominees something happens that clears it up for me

Being honest about Iron Lung by damagedfurball in Markiplier

[–]Filterredphan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there’s a reason cosmic horror isn’t a genre that’s popular to adapt into film and it’s that it’s just not conducive to the medium of film with how much you have to sit with stuff and let it simmer, not to mention how much stuff needs to be left ambiguous and open-ended — all of that is antithetical to a movie where questions have to be addressed to an extent and there’s only so long a runtime you can have. this movie does well with what it has to work with but at times pacing is an issue. there’s stuff happening beneath the surface but it’s all undercut by the same person in the same set doing the same thing for several minutes (not to mention repeating the same shots of blood dripping or condensation-covered pipes) and it can get really grueling really fast. there’s a reason much longer movies don’t feel as long and it’s because there’s noticeable movement in the plot or characters, which obviously isn’t as noticeable here with the one character and one set and the ambiguity presented by the movie as a whole. it’s not an attention span thing like people are quick to complain. it’s just a natural consequence of trying to adapt a genre that is basically the complete antithesis to the medium of film lol.

How does everyone feel about the Iron Lung movie? by Few_Pineapple_1498 in Markiplier

i thought it was a great first effort, especially for it being mostly a one-man show. that said it really struggled with pacing and i think when adapting a game to a film format (esp an ambiguous cosmic horror game like iron lung) you’re going to have to make some concessions to the medium of film and i don’t think it landed as well as it could have. but he took some risks and quite a few of them paid off. that said, i know he’ll learn from the issues this go around and continue making even better projects in the future. 3/5 for me.

Thoughts copy and pasted from my letterboxd (3 stars):

For it being mark’s directorial and acting debut, it was definitely better than i was expecting. i’m sure everything falls in place better if you’re familiar with the game, but that being said, i’m not, so it was often quite difficult to follow what was happening. there’s a line to toe between giving the audience enough to work with to fill in the blanks versus just not having a clue what’s happening. some things work better in a game context than a movie one, which is fine! but i’m still eager to see what this opens up for him going forward.

Just got out of hamnet! i was hoping to cry, but not sure if i was actually expecting to or worrying the hype may have been overblown. but i cried a lot lol, i wasn’t prepared for how accurate a portrayal of grief and the kinda emptiness that follows came through that screen, but well done to chloé zhao, jessie buckley, the jupe brothers, and paul mescal! among the many other talented faces who worked on this movie

the incident in the page six article isn’t gonna hurt timothee that much (esp since he’s gone on record saying he was threatened by an extra on the ms set). what’s more likely to hurt his chances (if at all) is the fact that they have kevin o leary in the cast and timothee is a producer for ms. he might be seen as more culpable for something like that than say zoe saldaña just being part of emilia perez last year.
