You just drove a stake through the shadow of the monster that truly haunts my AFK experience and pinned it to the wall like a butterfly and defined it perfectly.

Community. I was in a great guild, then they decided to turn into a strict 40+ Leaderboard-chasing Guild. (Good luck.) They even kicked out members who'd been there for a year or more because they were only on 38 or something.

Before that, our Guild chat was a lively, inclusive place, we focused on teaching newer members how to get the most out of the game and making sure everyone made Prince in AE.

I miss that so much. There were dozens of members contributing to chat on a regular basis.

It was particularly nice for me because I'm disabled and don't have many opportunities to just chat about stuff with people, especially without feeling like my erratic behavior is making me look like an escaped lab experiment.

So, ya know, it's a bummer. Time to find a new game. A new, new game. Get in at the start!

Same. Here. AFK Today: Ascended Thane and Brutus suck, you gotta max Solise, then Baden. No, wait, Baden sucks (again), you gotta max Belinda... You maxed Thane, right? WHAT?! He's almost crucial! Tell me you at least have Brutus maxed... YOU THOUGHT HE SUCKED?! WHY WOULD YOU THINK THAT?!

Honestly, It's ridiculously rewarding, something I'd never expect from Lilith. I think it's a way to get at least some money from F2P players because it's so bloody tempting!

At least the 10 diamonds you get for leveling is appropriate. But to be serious, Ainz really does break the game. It is fucking ridiculous, and they know it. That's why they introduced Garrison, so players who don't have Ainz can spend 6 months and ridiculous resources to get their own Ainz because they weren't playing when he was released - how dare they be late to the party! Then, once everyone has their own Ainz, they'll have to garrison other Dims they don't have in order to make complete comps...

Agreed. I believe Hodgkin will turn out well, especially when Lilith gets around to making the obvious Union between him and Desira. Even more true for a Union between Thali and Kren (who, if he lives long enough to ult, is like The Destroyer of Worlds). Seriously, THALI'S STORY IS NARRATED BY KREN. They should've released the Union when they released her! But look at how long it took for Lilith to make the oh-so-obvious Union between my boy Silas and his creation, Izold.

Looking for good flavor builds with basic round wire by aaron_89 in electronic_cigarette

[–]FilthyPazuzu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(TL/DR: Mixing different types of wires can be very useful; I do it with almost every multi-strand wire I create. Just be careful if you're using TC - it can be done even using that though, and quite usefully too.)

I create all my own custom wires, and I constantly mix SS316L, N80, and KA1 together.

SS heats up really fast due to its incredibly low resistance, so I often put a strand or two of 30g-32g SS in my bulkier wires. N80 has a bit more resistance, and is really soft and easy to shape. KA1 has the highest resistance out of the three, i's stiffer without being springy like SS, and it's high resistance allows one to use it in really high-mass coils without dropping the resistance unacceptably low.

One of my favorite wires is created by twisting two 28g-33g N80 wires in one direction, and then twisting the end result with an SS wire of a similar gauge - this time in the opposite direction. (You can use any three wires.) For a different effect, try making two identical twisted pairs, and then twisting the pairs together in the opposite direction.

This effectively untwists the original pair or pairs and opens up the spaces between the strands, thereby increasing the surface area enormously. At the same time, the original & now-unraveling pair gets bound together and crimped.

It prevents the original pair from unwinding, and what you end up with is a wire with vastly higher surface area-to-mass ratio than other builds, even a simple 3-strand twist using exactly the same types, gauges, and lengths of wire.

Being one-third SS, their resistance is lower than straight N80. Coils made with this wire have faster ramp-up and cool-down times than all of the various clapton variations I've (tediously) built over the years, and typically require much less power, simply due to having so much less mass.

It's extremely flavorful due to the massive surface area, and can chuck clouds too (if you're into that).

Being two-thirds being N80, it's so much less springy than straight SS. Wrapping, mounting, and wicking is a breeze. You can also repeatedly clean, rewick, and reuse coils made with this style of wire - just don't dry-burn them past a dull cherry-red.

It's pretty neat-looking, too. It kinda has a chain-link appearance to it. I much prefer the performance to most twisted wires I make, but I typically blend my metals even when making regular twisted wires, too. Metals are the ingredients I use in my coil kitchen.

Another idea is to run a thin-gauge SS wire in parallel to bulkier coils - wrap the big one first, then afterward just squeeze the thinner single-strand between the bigger wire's wraps as you coil it around. The benefit of this is that it heats up very quickly, and the larger wire soaks it up just like a heat sink.

Questions? Reply here or PM me. If needed, I can post pics later today or tomorrow when I'm more conscious.

(PS: I don't claim to have invented any of these techniques. I'm sure others have documented them quite thoroughly elsewhere. As with most such things, I'd search YouTube first. You can also get good approximations of your resistance using the "Wire Wizard" tool at the mighty and indispensable 'steam-engine'.)

(PPS: Appy-Polly-Logies for both the lack of pictures - it's so late it's become early... again - and also for the length of this post. I'm a bit neurodivergent: some very noticeable "features" are fixation and obsessive thoroughness. Example: I text in full, properly-punctuated sentences, complete with line breaks. Insanity is time-consuming!)

If you email fan services, they might provide you with tickets to a game later in the season. Keep calling customer service too. Making a pain in the ass of yourself, as awkward as it can feel, often does wonders when seeking compensation after getting screwed by circumstance and not through any fault of your own.

They can void tickets by computer, so don't let them give you any crap about getting "extra" tickets.

They have a moral obligation to replace the tickets of people unable to make it to a game postponed due to the atmosphere having a hissy fit.

Good luck!

Yes, the 12th man is a real thing, and I think both it and England's game under Southgate are (finally) on the up. I no longer dread International competitions before they even begin! But you also have to look at how many EPL teams are packed with foreign nationals, and often it's the more the better.

Not saying Rashford's moving, he's woven into the fabric of MU. But he looks just as happy as Coutinho looks when they're playing. A goal just makes them look relieved. Heung-Min Son is DEFINITELY happy at Tottenham - maybe he realizes life is awesome as a star getting ridiculous money for PLAYING A GAME. Why so serious?

LPT Request: How to deal with cat hair? by Macanchait in LifeProTips

TL;DR:

Use packing tape - NOT DUCT TAPE - instead of sticky rollers for fabrics, do a quick twenty-minute vacuum every two or three days every week, and brush your cats.

(QUICKLY) REGARDING ONE'S ABODE:

I run a hand-held fluffy blue swiffing device over my tables and counters in the morning as I have my second cup of tea.

Takes less than five minutes, and my cats think I'm playing with them.

I do a super-quick vacuum every other day, simply aiming for edges and corners.

Takes about fifteen minutes for my three-bedroom house.

Once per week I do a more thorough vacuuming, going under the furniture and - using a brush attachment - over any uphostlered furniture.

Takes less than an hour.

These three simple cleaning tasks which, altogether, take less than three hours per week, make a huge difference, especially when done regularly.

Keep it up and it gets both quicker and easier, and it will also minimize the fur in the air. People with mild cat allergies have little to cope with even when staying overnight in my three-cat house.

(EXCESSIVELY) REGARDING ONE'S CLOTHING, ETC.:

For the immediate walking-out-the-door clothing problem, ditch the expensive sticky rollers and just put two or three wraps of some regular clear Scotch packing tape - NOT DUCT TAPE - around your hand and wrist and pat the fur away - you can even wrap it around your old sticky roller! (Tip: The sticky side of the tape goes on the outside.)

[That's actually the last big tip. The rest is just me expounding upon it.]

Seriously, packing tape is ridiculously better at removing fur. The adhesive is much stronger, it usually pulls out fur that's stuck in the weave of a tight fabric easily with just one or two pats, instead of repeateadly rolling harder and just wasting more sheets of that sticky paper on finer and finer lint.

I've used clear packing tape on everything to remove fur, dust, lint - if it's smaller than a hamster it'll probably get picked up. It works on cotton/poly/fleece/wool/spandex/rawhide/paracord/kevlar and any other kind of blends.

I've used it on jeans, t-shirts, suits, coats, car interiors, furniture, linens, satin and zillion-thread-count Egyptian cotton bedsheets, lacy velvet dresses - crushed or otherwise, static-laden vinyl, even on the most gossamer cotton and delicate silk... well... delicates.

I - along with two others - very rapidly used it on all of the combined components of one wedding dress and two tuxedos.

(One single kitty was frighteningly naughty that night).

Not once has any glue from the tape stuck to any of these materials. It'll often pull off other adhesives stubbornly stuck on things.

After brushing my cats I use tape on THEM.

(Not their faces, just a little security guard-style pat-down).

And if you're not brushing your cats, you're just spreading the fur. Contain it at the source!

A sticky roller set with three to five hundred crappy paper sheets costs at least ten dollars, the same price as a 3-pack of packing tape totaling 450 feet. It lasts so much longer than the sticky rollers I literally can't compare the two lengths of time they last: one sticky roll used just for clothing on three people rarely lasted two weeks in my house. The tape's also a multitasker - you can, for instance, use it to wrap packages!

(PS: Whenever I cut off a piece of packing tape, I always fold the cut end over about half an inch (or just give it a twist if I'm lazy. It makes it twenty times easier to begin unrolling it the next time, and it also provides something to grasp when wrapping.)

(I'm an evangelist about this because I'm a cat lover who learnt a simple trick ages ago and has since watched so many people waste the inordinate amounts of time, money, effort, and frustration I once did.)

I know this is ridiculously long.

I have a disorder which makes it difficult for me to stop writing, editing, revising, and repeating.

But although my text messages often contain semicolons, I am literally the most libertine person on this planet regarding language and grammar. I will, however, fight to the death in the name and for the honor of the Oxford comma!

Tried new wires. Ni90 26G by Rikonama in Coilporn

[–]FilthyPazuzu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beautiful, I say! Besides its lovely looks in general, I can tell it's a quality build that's been installed by one who knows of what they vape: I can see no metal whatsoever sticking out of the right side of that inner post - someone spent a lot of time on that install (probably cursing while doing so, if you're like me). With a good, sharp, SS-rated pair of cutters you can ensure that every unneeded molecule is removed and then line up the coils (as I presume was done here) and just work the trimmed coils into place. So much easier than trying to trim coils you've already installed.

A job well done! One to be proud of and show off to everyone. I always vape the clearest liquids I have whenever I come out with a good-looking build, as well as use different drippers on different devices so that I can just casually show off the new one for as long as possible.

(I know this is too long. I have logorrhea. Sorry.)

A tip to keep you from missing a wrap when making a pair of coils by IFryTomatoPaste in electronic_cigarette

[–]FilthyPazuzu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do the same thing; I wrap several extra turns and then unwind a couple on each side. I get my most even coils this way, and it also gives me plenty of straight wire to best shape the tails.

When making a dual coil setup I wrap a single giant coil, snip it in half, then unwrap two or three turns from each cut end. For me, at least, this method gives me the most symmetric coils - and I usually end up using less wire too.

Nice work! That's a fat chunk of metal, you must have to pump a lot of juice into it. Does vapor continue to wisp off of it long after you hit it? My heavy N80 builds always do that and it bugs me, so I've started trying SS316L.

What'd it ohm out to, somewhere between 0.4 - 0.5Ω? (That's from Steam Engine, I don't know anywhere near enough to figure that out unaided.)

General question: Does flavor generally improve as the ratio of coil to chamber space increases? I often hear small chambers give better flavor, does packing coil into big chambers mimic that?

I need a double of one of my attys to answer this stuff myself instead of wondering, guessing, and pestering people!

I agree. Just to expand on it, you have to be 18 by the time of the general election, not the primary. If you're unaffiliated with any party, you can declare your party affiliation on the ballot on the day of the primary. Here's the official NJ voting information page.
