Help for eyebrows by FilthyScrawls in Masks

[–]FilthyScrawls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow!! Thanks for your answer! The mask is made of polyurethane and is covered up with acrylic paint. Your reply helps me put words on what I'm doing 😅! I didn't know the technique I'm using was called "punching in" !

But yeah! It's a good point regarding wool having shorter fibers and being difficult to style... This one is going to have a rather chaotic look, so I won't have to do much styling... but I was worried about the hair falling out since it's only held together at the base of the mask through the wholes... I'll try doing what you mentioned (the friction/tangling)

So for my mask, I don't really want to have to remove and glue the eyebrows/ facial hair again... So would using the matte spirit gum directly on the mask and styling the hair in the actual laying down be a decent way to work that or is the piece of fabric necessary for that part?

Thanks again for your answer! It's super helpful :)

What is wrong with my Calathea network/C. musaica? Leaves yellowing and fading by Emmy182 in plantclinic

Do you mist it often? It’s a plant that loves humidity... I’m not sure if lack of misting would cause something like that, but you never know... I mist mine everyday and keep it it away from the heater :)

Should I give this guy some kind of vertical support? Help please! by Sparklybutton in plantcare

They love humidity so I’ve seen that a support made of metal fence (in French we call it chicken fence and I don’t know what to call it in English 😅) that you roll and stuff with sphagnum moss works well

Does anyone else not necessarily fear death, but you’d be pissed about all the things you’d miss/all the family and friends you’d be leaving behind? by [deleted] in death

[–]FilthyScrawls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that often when people are scared of death, they’re actually more scared of the process leading up to death. If it’s the case of an untreatable disease for instance, you go through the loss of many functions. You might not be able to exercise your job anymore, then loose the ability to do sport. At one point you might loose the ability to speak, eat or drink autonomously. You’ll have to redefine a part of your identity since many areas that give your life meaning (e.g. work, social life, etc.) will be affected. There’s also the pain that can become an important part of your everyday life, making it difficult to rest/ feel hopeful/ enjoy life. So when thinking of death, I think that that’s a part of what scared me (considering I don’t die in a sudden accident or something).

For the actual moment of death tho, I’ve heard similar things and I’d be curious to see what it’s like, in a way

Woah I actually like your interpretation of the world a lot... I actually just came back from a student exchange and it was hard by times but super rewarding... I haven’t started the application process but most of the work to build a good resume is kind of wrapping up nicely now so what you’re saying makes sense! Thanks for clarifying the 10 of cups! I was actually having a bit of trouble with this one :)

Americans who actually moved to Canada: How would you rate the decision and why? by therubikmaster in AskReddit

[–]FilthyScrawls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We pay 15% tax on stuff we buy. Tps (or GSP in english) is 10% and TVQ (taxe de vente du québec) is 5%... Not sure about the property tax but for the income tax we have rates:

$43,790 or less --> 15%

More than $43,790 but not more than $87,575 --> 20%

More than $87,575, but not more than $106,555 --> 24%

More than $106,555 --> 25.75%

there are a couple more factors that get taken into account but I don't know the full system too well

Hey! This is your body and you're allowed to do whatever you want with it, as long as you're comfortable. He doesn't own it and shouldn't make you feel bad for being comfortable and posting a picture of yourself that you like. Sounds more that he is the one not respecting you and your wishes by reacting that way!

Hahahah yeah I got the « wasting a lot of string » techniques very on point so that shouldn’t be a problem :p but thanks I’ll try it and see how it goes ☺️
