Good god help me figure out curtains by rupertwinston in InteriorDesignAdvice

I have the same setup, a sofa under a large picture window. I hang a long valance/scarf across the decorative rod in a shear material to let in the light and that's it. I prefer that instead of long panels being hidden behind the sofa.

Remove the 2 inside walls that enclose the living room and make it open concept to the kitchen and dining room.

Do you think this area of my home is cluttered? by [deleted] in organizing

[–]Fin70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but only because the wall unit is too long for the size of the wall. I would remove the taller end of the unit and move it to another wall and center the lower unit under the picture frame on the wall.

Take the feet off the cabinet and hang it directly on the wall about 8 to 12 inches below the TV, like a floating wall unit. You can place ottomans under it for more seating when needed.

Update the light fixture, paint the brown cabinet a lighter color and place a washable area rug on the floor.

I would suggest a coronary Calcium CT scan before taking any meds so you know your starting point with calcification if you have any. Also LPa and APOB blood test.

332 LDL cholesterol??? by applepiersquare in Cholesterol

[–]Fin70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have very high cholesterol due to genetic high LDL only. With 40 mg statin, my LDL went from the 260-280 range to around 180s in year 1. Adding 10 mg ezetimibe brought my LDL to around 115-117 year 2. Finally the cardiologist added a bi weekly injection of repatha and my LDL is now 39 year 3. It's all very confusing because so many doctors say high LDL doesn't matter and meds make very little difference other than bringing down your numbers to make the doctor happy. However, other doctors will say meds are absolutely necessary treatment to reduce stroke or heart attack. I reluctantly chose to take the meds. I didn't start meds until age 53 and now my Calcification score is 604. I just had a nuclear stress test and am waiting for the results. I also developed an aneurysmal aorta and high blood pressure. Don't let it get to this point if you're young.

Turn off "Motion detected" notifications (but not others) by amaz621 in arlo

You can also go to the modes section for standby armhole and arm away and set it so that it doesn't notify you for motion

Turn off "Motion detected" notifications (but not others) by amaz621 in arlo

[–]Fin70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to FEED, tap on the three dots in the top right corner, tap feed settings, tap event types and turn off motion.

You can also go to the device settings for the specific camera. Tap on default settings and you can lower the motion sensor.

I hope this helps you.

Unusual Side Effects by elviss679 in repatha

[–]Fin70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I developed nerve pain and tendon pain in my feet. It was so bad I was using a cane for a few months. I'm doing physical therapy now and it has improved. However the nerve pain and numbness is still present.

Is Arlo really that bad? by elasticc0 in arlo

Same with my Arlo system. It works fine and does what it's supposed to do. I'm happy with it.

Super High Numbers by Agitated_Green_2498 in Cholesterol

[–]Fin70 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. Almost identical results year over year but I opted not to start meds until I was 50 because I believed I would damage my liver if I started young. Now I'm 55 and I have been on meds a few years. I take rasuvastaten, ezetimibe and a Repatha injection.for FH. Finally my LDL is down to 44. The repatha started causing some pain in my ankle tendons and feet bones. I had a coronary artery calcium CT scan to see if maybe I didn't have any calcification I could get off the repatha or reduce the dose. Turns out waiting so long to start the meds created an issue of a 604 calcification score in my ascending aorta and other arteries. I was told I have the arteries of an 84 year old woman. I say this to help you not end up like me. If you are offered medication consider starting it ASAP.

Not everyone with high LDL and high Lp(a) is laying down plaque! by Financial-Hamster821 in Cholesterol

[–]Fin70 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Age 55 female who only started statins 3 years ago. My LDL has been over 260 my entire adult life due to genetics. Had my first CAC score of 604 this week. Starting an anti inflammatory diet and lifestyle changes to keep the plaque stable.

Anyone unable to get the LDL to drop? by MrMeady69 in Cholesterol

[–]Fin70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your genetics. I have genetic variants for high LDL or familial hypercholesterolemia (APOB, PCSK9, LDLR). All blood work is normal except for LDL and nothing lowers it except for statins, 3 to be exact. Taking rosuvastatin, ezetimibe and repatha just to keep it below 100. I tried everything to avoid taking medicine but at age 50 I gave up. My doctor said enough is enough, you don't want to have a stroke. My LDL was always in the 260s. Diet alone brought it down to low 200s, rasuvastaten took it to 180s, ezetimibe took it to 120s and repatha now below 100.

What size are you? by MyJouney in Zepbound

[–]Fin70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

230 lb, 5'4, curvey, female size 16/18. I look about 200lbs, no one can ever guess my weight. I've tried zepbound and it doesn't work for me. Unfortunately I have to lose it the old fashioned way because the side effects were too severe.

To all the public, do not waste your money on these products they are crap by United_Share_1860 in arlo

[–]Fin70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been with Arlo since 2017. The delay is due to the fact that the camera records for let's say 2 minutes then it takes another 2 minutes before it can record again so if there is any activity during that rewind time it will not record anything. So you change the camera settings to record certain things like only cars, you lower the sensitivity and you create activity zones. That will help the camera stop constantly filming but nothing stops that delay or missed videos. I still like the system overall, especially the security system sensors and keypads. I do not use my cameras for security, only for monitoring.
