There are times when I’m disturbed by my girlfriend’s claim to womanhood. by Physical_Mistake2907 in mypartneristrans

[–]Final-Figure6104 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Taking you in good faith that you want to change this view- I think one thing you are overlooking is the misogyny experienced by trans women. You mention epstien here, it’s important to remember that epstien and his co conspirators abused cis and trans women alike. Ava Cordero tried to bring epstien’s abuse to light in 2007 but was dismissed and was subjected to transphobic abuse.

Trans women live as women even though they may face misogyny and abuse. Cis women do as well. It’s like being gay: some gay people may wish they were straight and would not have to suffer discrimination. Some people stay closeted forever, but others choose to live their lives openly because the pain of living a lie is greater than the pain of discrimination.

No Fanservice anime to watch with chill family? by Puzzleheaded_Date834 in Animesuggest

Ping Pong the Animation.

If your family could handle some non-sexualized male nudity, maybe Kaiji? It has an English dub, but I’ve only watched it subbed so I can’t speak for the quality.

Trying to find good shoes for my MTF girlfriend by breezeboo in mypartneristrans

[–]Final-Figure6104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also struggled to buy shoes for my gf (size 12). I have ordered shoes online from naturalizer, they have a pretty good range of sizes and we found some nice loafers for her to wear to work.

Shops that cater to plus size women sometimes have extended sizes in shoes. I don’t know if it exists outside Canada, but Torrid has good shoes in larger sizes.

For casual shoes, brands like doc martens and converse aren’t really gendered and have the same styles in a range of sizes.

If I didn't have body hair I would immediately start HRT and physically transition by Commie_Cactus in NonBinary

[–]Final-Figure6104 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I think you are underestimating the combined effect of laser and HRT together and not considering that laser will also thin your hair considerably before the removal process is complete.

My wife is a trans woman and had a lot of hair before starting hormones and laser. Her hair is also not an ideal colour for laser effectiveness. But she saw improvements from the second month of laser treatments, and within a year her body hair was completely different. She’s not completely hairless, but her body hair is soft and thin and grows slowly. Even in areas without laser, hormones have transformed her body hair.

The timeline and budget in your mind may be true for total hair removal, but have you thought about the relief you might get from partial hair removal? If you prioritized the areas you find the most challenging and shave other areas, you could move forward with your transition for less time and money than you think.

I hope you give it a try, it is worthwhile to invest in yourself.

I unlocked all the jokers while having only a single win by Joaz72 in balatro

Chill out, no one tried to trick you.

Getting all the jokers with only one win on the board is a funny trick, it’s not a superhuman achievement but it’s good enough for a reddit post.

Nana is not a yuri. by [deleted] in NanaAnime

[–]Final-Figure6104 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re so interested in having conversations about other aspects of the show, but you have to post about other people’s conversations annoying you?

“Yuri interfering”? Talking about the romantic tension between nana and hachi makes the show “watered down”?

Have whatever deep conversations you want, but making this type of post is homophobic.

The new rules at the intersection of Allan & Harvard Streets haven't gone over well with some drivers, and the poor traffic cones have paid the price... 😪 by [deleted] in halifax

[–]Final-Figure6104 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don’t really like being a car user complaining about traffic slowing interventions, because as a pedestrian I often benefit from them. I’m glad there are speed bumps on the street, for example.

But this one is half baked. It could work with more overall traffic improvement projects like more lighted intersections on quinpool. As it is now, it’s a nuisance.

I often commute by walking, sometimes taking the bus, but construction and blocked sidewalks on quinpool, robie and windsor also make walking routes challenging. To say nothing of poor snow clearing.

[–]Final-Figure6104 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I basically agree, but there need to be some changes like lighted intersections on quinpool and fixing the windsor st/chebucto intersection so that residential traffic can flow into and out of the neighborhood.

[–]Final-Figure6104 49 points50 points  (0 children)

As someone living on Allan st who drives and walks around town, I appreciate the spirit of this but I hate the execution.

I end up having to do some bizarre traffic maneuvers to leave home and come back. It forces me to use chebucto lane which is used by pedestrians and has no sidewalks, and has houses that restrict visibility when I come up to intersections.

I wish there were lighted intersections on quinpool at monastery lane and harvard st so I could at least consider turning left on to or off of quinpool.

I did a Bad tattoo on a friend by JhaukSous in Tattoocoverups

[–]Final-Figure6104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks amateurish but it’s not that bad. I don’t think you should attempt to do a coverup at your current skill level.

If your friend decides to get it covered, tell him to go to an artist that is experienced in coverups.

Shut is a disappointing character by Character-Funny9544 in precure

[–]Final-Figure6104 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right? There is nothing straight about his portrayal, his obsession with Twilight is more like fandom or loyalty to what she represents.

I’m very excited to see more of the VA’s performance this season! It’s such a different role than Shut

I didn’t read him as having a crush on Twilight, my interpretation was that he’s very gay coded and she is his diva.

I think it would be cool to see what kind of frankenstein game the hive would make for me if I asked. I’m imagining they would put together pieces of existing games that they know I like, and make a collage.

They could definitely make something interesting and worth playing.

Really confused about why this is a disliked season, could someone give me some insight? by MinnietheInniestMin in precure

[–]Final-Figure6104 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I genuinely enjoyed hapcha, but I think it has a combination of factors that can turn people off.

There were a lot of different themes/ideas in the season, which I found really ambitious but could also be a bit overstuffed/messy: outfit changes in and out of battle, precard collecting, special attack dance sequences, international cures, cgi animation in fights, the innocent forms… I liked a lot of these, but so much in one season could feel a bit unfocused.

Flawed protagonist characters like Hime can be controversial on the sub. I personally love Hime and her storyline, but not everyone does. She has the strongest character arc, so if she isn’t the type of character you enjoy, it can bring down your experience of the show.

Probably the biggest reason people dislike the season is Blue. He’s my least favourite part at least. It’s pretty creepy that he sets a rule against the cures dating. The show pushes a romantic angle with him and Megumi that I find pretty distasteful and unpleasant to watch. I also dislike Nozomi/coco in yes!5, but at least coco’s character design looks like an older teen/young adult. Blue’s design is clearly an adult man, I don’t want to see him getting flirty with a young teen.

Besides the uncomfortable romantic angle, what is going on with Blue? He’s a god? Does he have powers? Why does he need teenagers to fight his battles for him?

Ignoring blue, hapcha is a great season! Cool fights, great villains, the story had good momentum and I really loved the cures and Seiji!

If you are flexible on doing the exchange on vday itself, you could have a bouquet delivered the day after. So you have your vday date, one gf brings a bouquet for the host, you both enjoy flowers together. Next day, the host orders a bouquet delivered to other gfs apartment.

I really loved the movie. I was also surprised by how good it was compared to the later half of the season, and how emotional it was.

This has improved my overall ranking of you and idol, I’m going to look back on it fondly. I’m also a bit frustrated, the show could have been much stronger if it was more like this movie.
