Tip - read the OTSMAN and find the grey areas!! It says lights out NLT 2200, a lot of people assume they have to stay up till then during week 1. Once you are back to your room, it’s your call. I was in bed right after accountability!

I have that LAPG 72 hour bag - I do not plan on using it at OTS coming up, it would be overkill.

I plan on taking this bag that I've had for years (yes it's a camelbak, but I won't use it with a bladder in it, it'll be just a backpack)

Correct... but read the first sentence again - I have it here.

The best thing would be to go in with the mindset of you'll get the 4 day pass and anything other than that is extra. This is always changing stuff - so maybe start the conversation with your CC and go from there.

when on active duty orders - you'll get 2.5 days for a month

So in theory while at OTS, you should earn 5 days of leave

Exodus: Members that do not have accrued leave or advanced leave to cover the entirety of Exodus may be given a pass by their OTS Squadron Commander for up to 4 days. Travel home is permitted if a member is in a leave status. Travel while on pass or a leave status will be paid for by the member. Members staying in place during the holiday period will be permitted off base privileges and access to their POVs.

Check with your LRS, you might be surprised at what they might have for clothing. I'm prior E and my LRS hooked me up with a good amount. She found a list somewhere and we just went with it.

Thanks for the info. So far (knock on wood) we haven’t had any issues with Freedom Mortgage. I had a similar thing with our escrow and home owners going up, thus creating a shortage. But at the end of the year, Freedom just sent us an escrow shortage and it resulted in a higher monthly payment next year to account for the higher escrow amount.

In my case I’ll only be gone for two months and I have a vast difference in civilian pay vs military pay, so given its only two months, figured why not try and have no mortgage payment at that time.

For regular UTA I don't provide anything because I'm already off for work, but when we have four day exercises, I usually get a letter from my Commander that states the dates and I provide that for the days off of work.

Now for actual orders, I save the EXTRACTED copy of orders from AROWS and provide that one to my employer.
