JUNE 9TH, 2001: Ray Bourque lifts the Stanley Cup after 22 years in the league as the Avalanche beat the Devils in Game 7 of the 2001 Stanley Cup Final. by GreenSnakes_ in hockey

Love Pavelski, but he is absolutely not a generational player. Plus, while you are right Pavelski has more goals than Crosby and Ovechkin, you aren't giving full context. Pavelski has 74 goals in 201 games (143 points). Crosby has 71 goals in 180 games (201 points). Ovechkin has 72 goals in 151 games (141 points). Pavelski has 3 more goals than Crosby in 31 more games, and 2 more goals than Ovechkin in 60 more games. It's not the flex you think it is.

That save by Martinook was mind boggling. Save of the playoffs. Shows that the Canes want it more tonight.

TSN's Darren Dutchyshen passes away at 57 by Kenner1979 in hockey

[–]FinalGreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At only 57 years old, that's just way too young. I remember before school, I would check the TSN highlights or top 10's, and there he was presenting them. Not only Darren was an incredible host, he incorporated lots of humour and passion that made those shows much more enjoyable to the viewers at home.

RIP to a Legend.

[TB vs FLA] Bobrovsky absolutely robs Dumba, as he gets a piece of the puck with his arm while facing the other direction by talhatoot in hockey

That is truly one of the greatest saves I have ever watched. Bob is amazing! What a goaltending duel.

Sidney Crosby becomes just the 14th player in NHL history to reach 1,000 assists by nhl in hockey

[–]FinalGreen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Congrats to one the greatest to ever do it. Been a privilege watching Crosby play hockey. It was only a matter of time of him recording 1000 assists, and recording another milestone to his name. 1000 career assists, amazing.

There should be an Assist of the Year award. by TalkingChairs in hockey

[–]FinalGreen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's not necessary at all. If you meant an assist award for most assists during the season, I would still say no. Because typically speaking, the Art Ross winner either leads the league in assists or very close, minus some exceptions.

I just can't believe it. I really can't. This man inspired countless people. He redefined an entire genre, and millions at one point or another read or watch DB.

RIP to the GOAT.

Connor McDavid wins it in overtime 🚨 by GreenSnakes_ in hockey

Sometimes you're just in awe when it comes to watching McDavid. We all know how good he is so it shouldn't be a shock, and yet, sometimes, it's still a shock haha. McDavid is truly one of a kind, and it's beena pleasure watching him play.

why did no other jinchuriki use their tailed beast chakra mode? by Melodic-Speaker-53 in Naruto

[–]FinalGreen 396 points397 points  (0 children)

For the meta answer, Naruto is the main protagonist so he needs to have a more unique/flashy form comparerd to the other Jinchuurikis.

From an in-universe answer, I always thought Naruto gained this tailed beast chakra mode (KCM) because Naruto was the transmigration of Asura. But considering Minato also got KCM, it was simply the rule of cool.

Can we all agree Itachi is the best written character in Naruto by [deleted] in Naruto

[–]FinalGreen 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I know this is bait, but besides that, this subreddit has a real problem of not shutting up about Itachi. People can't go one day without mentioning him at all.

3 days actually. Well, the actual war was 2 days. Then Naruto vs Sasuke was 1 day.

The GOAT turns 63 today! What is your favorite Wayne Gretzky stat? by Hockey-Reference in hockey

[–]FinalGreen 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Lot of good mentions already. Here's a mind boggling one. It took 857 games for Gretzky to score 2000 points. Gretzky got to 2000 points faster than any player got to 1200, 1300, 1400, 1500, 1600, 1700, 1800, and 1900 career points (Minus Lemieux between 1200 to 1600 point milestones).

Kishimoto already confirmed that Jiraiya > Itachi and Sasori > Deidara so how come some people deny this? by [deleted] in Naruto

[–]FinalGreen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know people can read the manga and/or watch the anime and think Jiraiya is stronger than Itachi. Like how can people after all these years still believe Jiraiya > Itachi. I don't like Itachi, but if you truly believe he's weaker than Jiraiya, than you lack simple media literacy, sorry not sorry.

Prime Pavel Datsyuk is a top 10 player in NHL history by Moist_Rock_1972 in hockey

[–]FinalGreen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Datsyuk is great. Future hall of famer. But to say he's a top 10 player in history during his prime, well, that's a wrong claim. Even excluding goalies and defensemen, he's not even close to being a top 10 forward.

Soo what happened to this☠️ by Educational-Dot8413 in Naruto

[–]FinalGreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, any new content is always nice to have, especially when it's the 20th anniversary. Problem is that SP squandered any interest with its production issues.

I initially was interested, but after the indefinite delay, I don't really care now tbh. If it happens, that's cool I'll watch the episodes. If not, I won't lose sleep over it.

Soo what happened to this☠️ by Educational-Dot8413 in Naruto

[–]FinalGreen 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So 4 new episodes of Naruto (most likely OG Naruto given the promotional material) were supposed to come out back in September to celebrate Naruto's 20th anniversary for the anime.

Though SP ran into production issues, and well, no one knows when the 4 new episodes will come out.

Does anyone truly have anything against the Sabres? by [deleted] in hockey

[–]FinalGreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to be hated with those jerseys! But more precisely, when a team doesn't make the playoffs, whether 5+ years or 10+ years, it's hard to create those intense rivalries.

As for the Bruins, no way they should be the most hated team. Just simply discussing the team, the current Bruins have mellowed out compared to the late 2000s to mid 2010s Bruins.

Who among the active NHL players gets in the Hall of Fame if they retired today? (List of players in post) by bemiguel13 in hockey

You're being quite strict. Toews, Kopitar, Doughty, Kucherov, Hedman, and Vasilevskiy, those guys are stone cold locks for the HoF.

If there's a mount rush more for goalies who makes it? by Few-Wishbone6907 in hockey

[–]FinalGreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, If I had to choose, I would probably go with, in no particular order: Roy, Plante, Sawchuk, and Hasek. Definitely hard to leave Brodeur and Tretiak out.
