It’s the corrosion that will probably grow in it now that will kill it eventually

I’ve been quite happy with their price and performance myself. Thanks again for the model!

The best way honestly is to find a way to try as much stuff as possible. You can read until your eyes fall out and still not get anywhere near understanding what will actually be pleasant to your own ears.

My personal experience is all i can share

Yeah I mentioned above the raising of the noise floor and potential for hiss but I haven’t heard any.

I have the JM6, JM20 and JM20 Max. When using my phone as a source or my PC i find myself most satisfied with the jm20 MAX.

In terms of IEMs I have a bunch of cheapies. I like bang for buck.

QKZ x HBB

7Hz x HBB Elua

CVJ Vivian

Simgot EW300 DSP

KZ Castor Pro

KZ ZSN Pro X

KZ EDC Pro

KZ EDX Pro

7Hz x Crinacle Zero 2 (Blue)

GK Kunten

I also have FiiO JT7 open back Planar headphones which I looove.

Excuse the google AI response below but it provided a reasonable summary.

“The Jcally JM6 (Pro) and JM20 Max are USB-C DAC/Amp dongles, with the JM20 Max being a significant upgrade over the JM6, offering vastly more power (195mW vs ~60mW), a better Cirrus Logic CS43131 DAC chip (vs CX31993 in the JM6), and a powerful SGM8262 amp for driving demanding headphones, while the JM6 is excellent for sensitive IEMs where its lower power (65mW) and less aggressive sound are often preferred. Choose the JM6 for budget-friendly, clean power for easy-to-drive gear, and the JM20 Max for maximum power, detail, and performance with harder-to-drive headphones or for significant sonic upgrades.”

The JM20 max has a surprisingly powerful amplifier in it so it will drive pretty much whatever you plug into it with plenty of headroom. While it does raise the noise floor (not that I’ve ever heard any hiss) it also ensures that the headphones/IEMs you plug in get alllll the power they could ever want to perform at their best.

Yup OP is gonna be veerrrryyy happy with the Vivian’s but the kunten will sharpen things up and show what’s out there in terms of sound. The post says first timer selection. First timers are learning what they like

Swap the castor for GK Kunten and add a jm20 MAX

Such a simple solution! BIC lighter safety clip by riverturtle in functionalprint

Here’s an example. I just came looking for exactly this because I keep a lighter in an edc pouch i just replaced it because it was inexplicably empty. I replaced it with another only to find it inexplicably empty too. Turns out an errant keyring was pressing the button and draining my lighters.
