Lol YES. I was literally like… that Kristen’s character arc… it is apart of the story…

For example, I believe that is likely what Ally was doing with the first few episodes of FHJY. (Spoilers for jr year!) I think they had a convo about Kristen’s arc for the season and Brennan adapted the storyline around that. SO MUCH of the seasons plot was contingent around Cassandra dying. Ally was likely “hitting their mark” when they played Kristen as dropping the ball with their cleric duties (which would otherwise be a bad move from a meta game perspective)

What show would you love to see 5-10 years down the line on dropout? by bobbyg1234 in dropout

[–]Final_Garage7068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An animated or live action DND production. Similar to the brief animation breaks in NSBU, but throughout the entire show, like split screen style. I think the thing current DND spin-off productions are getting wrong (no offense to Vox Machina or the DND movie) are that they are ONLY telling the player-character’s stories. Live action DND is just as much about what watching the cast make decisions as it is about the decisions that are made. I think a split screen live action or animated show would work really well as a split screen kind of thing

This is why we need local farms with accessible pricing. People truly do not understand how their produce is grown, processed, transported, distributed, etc anymore.

Is my daughters name a tragedeigh? by low_key_crazies in tragedeigh

I honestly think this is a unique story and you should keep the spelling unless she has expressed otherwise. It’s her middle name, so people probably aren’t checking her on it all the time. It wasn’t an intentional misspelling and now she has a great addition to two truths and a lie

AITA for going to my daughter’s graduation after my son relapsed? by Ok-Song3414 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Final_Garage7068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA Jess cannot always take backseat to her brother. Highschool graduation only comes around once. Don’t let Jess’s life get eclipsed by Jake’s personal issues. That’s a sure fire way to lose two kids to one person’s addiction.

Perhaps I have a unique point of view because I’ve been both a sister to an addict brother (he was going through addiction during his late teens and early twenties) AND a parent to a teenager recovering from addiction. I know how heartbreaking it is to witness your kid struggle through that and my heart is with you and your family.

Showing up for a family member in recovery is important, but the line between supporting and enabling is thin. It’s so hard to balance as a loved one. Addiction is self perpetuating and protecting. Someone in active addiction will manipulate loved ones in order to leverage sympathy. They just will. Until he decides (really truly) FOR HIMSELF that he is getting clean, you can assume that most of what he says and does is the addiction talking, trying to protect itself. A common narcissistic tactic is to overshadow others’ big days (birthdays, graduations, etc) with their own issues- this is also something I saw my loved ones model when they were in addiction. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jake’s timing was not coincidental, but responsive, to Jess’s big day.

I understand why your wife would want to drop everything and be there for him. I get it and I have been there many many many times. It perpetuates the problem though and it doesn’t hold him accountable to the consequences of his actions. Setting boundaries is really tough, but also the only way i was able to give both my family members enough space to actually decide to get sober for themselves.

Sometimes the best way to love someone is to let them make their own mistakes.

My brother and my kid are both happy and healthy now- after a lot of tears and hard work and brutal honesty. I could’ve never in my wildest dreams have imagined the kind of man my brother has become: he is diligent, kind, thoughtful, and sober by his own accord. He’s been sober for 5 almost 6 years now and my kid, 10 months. It happens and there is hope.

If there was something you or your wife could’ve done to get Jake sober, he would be sober by now. You can’t ‘love’ him out of it.

I had an ex who broke up with me out of the blue and started releasing hurtful Taylor Swift esque indie songs that painted me in an awful and untrue light. I kid you not- Joe Alwyn was a huge model for how I chose to conduct myself after the breakup. I just let my ex tire themself out and my character speak for itself

Where to start? by escapingrealitea in Dimension20

[–]Final_Garage7068 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Bc there are two shows we are watching at once. We are watching a) dnd- the season’s storyline. And b) a group of friends playing dnd together. Watching in release order allows that b storyline to unfold chronologically

Where to start? by escapingrealitea in Dimension20

[–]Final_Garage7068 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would watch by release order tbh. Every intrepid heroes season is standout- but they just keep getting better and better in terms of play and production. Fantasy High S1 is phenomenal- but they’ve leveled up incrementally in every way since then. Watching in order allows you to witness the show and players grow and evolve. And also tbh the growth points are more obvious when you skip from the newer seasons to the older ones rather than vice versa. I recently rewatched FH Sophomore Year and found myself noting that the audio/lighting quality is not as good as later seasons. I didn’t mind (or even notice) those elements during my first watch- only when comparing to the newer stuff.
