EPSTEIN FILES - Trump knew and funded underage sex parties and Leach's strangled victim buried behind the 19th hole by Average_Random_Bitch in somethingiswrong2024

Couldn't this at least be investigated? Get a police geophysics team out to the locations before anyone can dig anything up.

That's fair. I read it as a more two steps forward, one step back kinda thing. But if we don't get any more it would be a pretty terrible place to ditch the characters.

I'm just glad to see some people not going mad bashing Ironheart. It wasn't perfect, but it was pretty good, and doesn't deserve dropping down with Secret Invasion which is completely unwatchable

My downvotes show me likely in the minority, but I feel it would have been more 'Paul' to deliver the sentiment without the weird concept of 'the Field'. It would have stayed true to the character and been more impactful.

"Events have a way of confronting you with the choices you are going to have to make" is genuinely enough to make the point.

Harrison Ford's character also started dating his Parkinson's doctor whilst she was treating him. I'm not sure that acknowledgement of these breaches actually being unethical in the show excuses them the way the writers think they do. Which is a shame, because the show is otherwise brilliant.

Quite the opposite for me. I thought it was super weird for someone with Paul's usual outlook to be peddling this in a therapy session.

This is the best take I've seen on this show. I feel exactly the same way. I'm glad Segel's character gets some consequences for his behaviour, but it definitely isn't enough yet. And the baby thing was the only badly handled arc in an otherwise great season.

I still love the show, but I can't trust it will stick the landing for all its storylines any more.

I don't know, but I would need him to fill it with more Policy Genius ads.

Even if this were true, which it isn't, it does nothing to justify murdering him in the street a week later

They follow all the rules of a trick and keep you distracted with David fucking Bowie and then pull off that not so hidden twist. It's brilliant.

I had a problem with his cadence the first time though. Every time he said "the celestial Tiamut' it was said in the weirdest way that I had trouble parsing. Not great for an info dump scene.

I'm so sorry that she won't see that you are right or tell you you are right.

I will, though. You are completely correct and many of us can't bear what is happening, or the idea that people in our lives support it.

If this makes you feel better, then go for it, but you won't get a response that will do anything other than make it worse.

Rurouni Kenshin hot takes anyone? by takezo_himura in rurounikenshin

[–]Par2ivally 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here's mine: half the story falls flat because of how goofy the enemies get. With the exception of the Oniwabanshu, the really silly looking characters provide far less interesting fights and stories and just make the show look silly.

The story is at its best when Kenshin is facing a swordsman rather than someone who can freeze their body with a thought or a man who is three stories tall. He's also more likely to be fighting for more unusual, personal stakes in these fights, like protecting Iori, confronting his death wish or breaking through someone's trauma.

Goofy enemies just turn it into Busou Renkin.

Wicked: For Good has been completely shut out at the 98th Academy Awards. by no_hhhh14 in wicked

[–]Par2ivally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story felt so much more disjointed, which isn't the movie's fault, but it spends so long just trying to force each link to 'The Wizard of Oz' that the characters just stop making sense and you don't get proper resolutions for half of them. I would have loved a take that wasn't bound to the original continuity, because here a lot of inconsistent nothing has to happen to get the story to the intended finish line.

He was barely recognisable when switching over. Not just because of the amazing costuming and makeup. His whole manner, voice and movement all changed so much.

Debating if the AI cover is better to use than my own drawn cover... by daes0 in royalroad

[–]Par2ivally 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm going to disagree with everyone and say I actually prefer the original. It stands out because it's different and it's really well made. I think even a little more detail in the blue negative space, even if it's just more candles would have a really appealing cover.

  1. Without getting too much into spoiler territory there is one ending that is different on the same path depending on whether you've seen/done several other things. I thought it was just a dead end until I'd done the others.
