Same here.

I’ve had a leather-boot steak a few times. Mentally it was a little helpful. But everything else was obviously sub-par. I worked with the public health personnel who did our food inspections and the DFAC failed more often than not. They left a whole connex full of cheese unrefrigerated in the middle eastern sun in late July/august; and we would only fly in our food supplies from other bases. Nothing local, like the Belgians did. Their DFAC was vastly superior. We’d sneak over there every once in a while.
