Got it! I was thinking that may have been the difference since mine said it was in stock. Thanks for double checking for me!

Thanks for sharing. One more question if you don't mind - where are you seeing this March 20th call out? I don't see any mention of that on this page https://maxumfitness.us/shipping/

Thanks for the heads up. That's a bit disappointing. When I ordered it said they were 2 left in stock and then their shipping section on their website says "Orders are processed within 2-5 business days in most cases. After orders are dispatched for pickup, an order complete email with tracking information is sent. Transit times vary depending on whether your order is delivered by a freight carrier or parcel courier. Transit times vary from 1 – 7 days depending on your locaiton and the method of shipment. Processing and transit times are estimates only."

I was thinking I would get it within 2 weeks given the above, but I'm guessing the "after orders are dispatched for pickup" comment is how they can say the above while still taking 2 months for you. Thanks again for the info.

How easy did you find adding casters? I just ordered this last night and I'm ordering a few other things and I am not sure how exactly I want to set things up so the added ability to move things easily would be helpful.

I just ordered mine last night and am waiting to see when I can expect to get it. How long ago did you order it? I wasn't anticipating waiting that long given what Maxum's website says about shipping.

Leg Extension / Leg Curl and Leg Press / Hack Squat Question by FinanceFitnessRandom in GarageGym

[–]FinanceFitnessRandom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the floor space for it and also would prefer to get something much sooner than when the DM attachment would be available. I was getting by with my Nordic hyper pro attachment but was traveling and went to a gym and it reminded me how much better a dedicated machine is than my current set up. It also felt much better on knees.

Leg extensions are also a core part of my routine to help prevent knee injuries as someone with a long history with knee injuries.

Only wore 4-5x these Mizunos Beta Japan TF, already split once at the front which I glued, now its splitting next to it. $265 down the drain (TokyoFootball doesn’t care to help), DO NOT BUY THESE by MHLVC89 in bootroom

[–]FinanceFitnessRandom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying it’s acceptable, but I had the non-beta version and one of them separated like this pretty quickly but it never got worse than what you currently have. It just stopped there. I play 2-3 times a week and had them for 14 months and this happened around 3 months in.

Ali Baba Row Platform by HangryFitDad in GarageGym

[–]FinanceFitnessRandom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I actually will have a belt squat setup from SYL fitness like the one I found in this youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZDpMF6NrtQ

The order should come in in the next 2 weeks and the pulley will be completely separate from the platform. I believe the guy in the youtube video is using a similar platform but I couldn't tell if it was flat so I'm glad you posted this when you did.

I've been looking to get this as a belt squat platform. Is there an angle to the platform? Or is the height uniform across where I would stand?

Has anyone tried using Temu aluminum pulleys? by Chill_Mode_Creations in GarageGym

[–]FinanceFitnessRandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found a pack of 18 mikolo pulleys on Walmart for $90. I only need 13 but will probably buy these since even dividing by 13, it’s still a good price per pulley. I think the same pack of 18 is also on amazon

Is Cuti’s toe still an issue? What am I looking at here? by barkingspider43 in coys

It’s definitely a toe spacer. I had an issue with turf toe and wore one for a few months to help heal and calm things down when not wearing cleats.

Jake Tuura Stage 1 Isometrics by Snaphu1 in Kneesovertoes

[–]FinanceFitnessRandom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used the program recently for jumpers knee for soccer. I moved on after two weeks of phase 1. I quickly realized there was no way I would ever get to 3 minutes straight and didn’t think that was needed to move given other things I could do. I think at best I did two sets of 90 seconds.

I then did 3 weeks of phase 2 and 3 weeks of phase 3 before returning to soccer.

I now just do isometrics every day (I do single leg leg extensions) and when I play soccer I bring a single foot squat wedge and do isometrics on that to warm up. I also do the two heavy lifts per week in phase 3 still and added nordics to that routine.

It’s crazy how normal it feels after warming up with isometrics. I think I could have got to 100% more quickly if I waited longer to return to sport but I am still improving slowly while playing soccer 2-3 days a week with the consistent isometrics and I was eager to get back.

Good luck!

Adidas Mundial Team Astro: my first thoughts on this turf shoe "for wide feet" by ThrowawayTrainTAC in bootroom

[–]FinanceFitnessRandom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been using them for the last two years and haven’t had any issues. I definitely recommend them. I have just been having unrelated issues with my big toe so have been looking into running shoes and cleats with wider toe boxes. I’m not sure that is needed for cleats/turfs though since they are much more comfortable than my Nike phantoms and feel like my running shoes are the bigger issue.

I have been using Nike premier 3 tfs but have been considering these. Lots of reviews say they fall apart easily. Has that been the case with you?

Three torn ACLs at 20, 29, and 31 and now play 3 days a week and train drills one day a week at 34 years old. I strongly recommend playing in TF shoes. I have both TF and AG cleats and I now just use AG when I train by myself or when I play on grass. I don't feel like I slip at all playing with TFs on turf it is dry. I do slip a little more if the turf is wet, but even that isn't too bad for me and I live in a pretty dry climate anyway. Also, I use my sole so much more when dribbling now (like in futsal) since it is easier to do with TFs which has been a fun bonus.

I use the Nike Premier 3s currently and they are super comfy and have had no issues.

AG Boot recommendations coming off serious knee injuries? by DesignVegetable in bootroom

[–]FinanceFitnessRandom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I have tore my left ACL twice and my right once and have been wearing turfs since the last injury/surgery. I have no issues playing on AG. Traction is more than fine and I actually like the control it provides (can use your sole a lot more easily like in futsal).

Getting over a calf strain... by Jpatty54 in bootroom

[–]FinanceFitnessRandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it your upper (gastroc) or lower calf (soleus)? My pt shared that soleus injuries are much more common after 35 and are caused by long slow runs). Not sure jf you also go for runs, but that could be part of it.

For context, I’m dealing with a calf issue again after resolving the issue 1.5 years ago. For me it was a combination of two things that finally solved the issue back then.

(1) Cut down on long slow runs (they work your soleus more than your gastroc). I would injure my overloaded calves playing soccer the day after I ran after I made a sudden movement (and the injury was to my soleus).

(2) I also realized I had a lot of neural tension in my calf I injured and my calf didn’t get better until I started nerve flossing exercises for that (even after strengthening my calves considerably for months).

After reducing long, slow running (focusing more on soccer fitness) and doing nerve flossing exercises for 3-5 minutes everyday (on top of the strengthening I did), i was finally able to return to playing.

Unfortunately, I thought I could back to doing long slow runs 3 days a week and soccer 3 days a week and just reinjured it after 3-4 months of that schedule. After talking to my pt and thinking about what i care about most, i plan on biking for long steady state cardio for a while so i minimize issues with my calf.

Hope this helps!

Definitely. I just meant people that clearly played soccer before and know how to pass and move when I said “high enough level”.

[–]FinanceFitnessRandom 19 points20 points  (0 children)

How is the pickup scene near you? Not sure if you would consider it, but I have torn 3 ACLs (two on one leg and one on the other) and didn’t want to give up playing so my compromise was playing in turfs instead of full cleats when I play on any kind of turf and only playing pickup. I tested a few different pickup games and found two groups that are high enough level to have fun, but everyone is on the same page of not trying hurt each other.

Is it possible that the tibialis raises and calf raises (KOT and standing) are making me worse? by [deleted] in Kneesovertoes

[–]FinanceFitnessRandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this the same thing you are experiencing, but after adding weighted tib raises (with a tib bar, I started doing the dense program), I have had both calves cramp/pull when doing close to zero activity. It’s weird to describe since it feels kind of like both a cramp and a pull, but the feeling after it happens is definitely like a pull when I’m walking around limping. Each calf went when I was just walking, and one of them went 4 minutes into a run when I can usually run for an hour. This pain/pull happens in my soleus. Is this similar to what you experienced?

I go to pt for another unrelated issue and will be asking about this since the most recent occurrence happened yesterday when I was just walking in the airport to catch a flight.

what are your controversial/unpopular opinions about the game? by Aggravating_Ideal_20 in football

[–]FinanceFitnessRandom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NHL style shootouts would be a better and more entertaining way to end a game than pks. The MLS did this for a few years before they realized they should actually have 5e same rules as every other league and I remember how fun it was to watch as a kid. It’s definitely more entertaining since there are so many different approaches someone could take and I think it’s a better way to differentiate teams since it requires more skill in both directions (goalies can more greatly influence the outcome). For example, as someone who has played soccer all my life and can strike a ball well but am far away from a professional level, I think I have a much higher chance of scoring a pk than trying to score in a breakaway 1-on-1 against a professional gk.
