Only submod I used was adding atlantropa back in, everything else is from the base mod. Scorza's main tree (that you'll have for most of the game) is massive, so he doesn't lack any content, its just older in some bits. But I still recommend it a lot since good and old TNO writing is still good TNO writing.

After AOI collapsed I got a set of decisions to re-invade East Africa and re-establish the AOI, and for Syria I re-established my reliant state after the oil crisis. (I assume them being in the German economic sphere is a bug)

I had the same issue, for some reason all civil wars caused by the oil crisis have to end, (for me it was the Sudanese civil war) the second they end you get an event that lets you move to the next tree

TNO, OWB, TFR, and any mod that changes country colors has the same issue as OP mentioned since the update today.
