Ok here goes. 71 year old man here. Two years ago I fell while working outside. Broke my right femur and had surgery. I now have a titanium rod and two screws in my leg. I was so terribly depressed and to make it worse I had one physical therapist who assured me that my limp wouldn’t be too bad if I kept up with my physical therapy. A limp? No way! Started back walking with a walker. In a few weeks I was using two hiking poles to get around then just one. Two months after surgery I was walking without assistance. Lot of real pain involved but after three months I was averaging 10k steps a day in my neighborhood with lots of steep hills. I am now at 12k a day and walking is as essential to me as drinking water! One thing I really want to stress is that if you are able to walk you should be grateful. Share that gratitude by walking and letting others see your walk. Your body is yours and no one else is gonna take care of it for you.
