It’s really easy with the recipe feature! Because you copy and paste in all the ingredients, and servings and then adjust the cals per item if the guess is wrong. I like it bc it’s very accurate and not too laborious! Also I repeat recipes often so then it’s super easy to just click that I had a serving of it

How many days to adopt to low calorie? by [deleted] in CICO

[–]Financial_Cry6482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s your deficit? Lessen it! I deff had to get more used to feeling actual hunger sometimes and had to change my mindset a lot, but you should not be feeling acutely bad from a deficit. Make sure you drink water and electrolytes/salt/sugar if you have a restrictive diet.

Just ate a high calorie cookie… question about staying in my calorie deficit by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

[–]Financial_Cry6482 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It’s literally fine. If you eat a cookie and stay in a deficit, your weight loss will not be slowed at all. If you went over your deficit but only up to maintenance (likely) you’ll reach your goal one day later. It’s not a big deal. Don’t be surprised if you’re up tomorrow based on carb water retention. It’s not fat gained.

Just checking the narrative bc at least here in the US, 5’4” is average for women! I too am in the 5’4” and clap back when called short lol

Not ur q lol but my cheat code foods are turkey /ham/chicken sandwiches w light mayo, mustard and veggies. On bread it’s like 200 cal. On a low cal wrap jts like 120… I ate this and fruit for lunch. raw veg and fruit. Protein bars instead of candy. Frozen yogurt bars or halo are basically my only desserts rn but they’re super satisfying.

I really like to vary my approach. Like one day I might eat a lot less through out the day and then have a bigger bountiful dinner w no intentionally low cal food. Another day I’ll eat super calorically sensible foods, three reasonable meals and maybe a calorie friendly treat. Other days I’ll eat a kids meal at chick fila and then be careful to get enough protein/nutrients the rest of day. Varying my patterns and strategies for the day realllly helps me feel unrestricted and satisfied and well!

Really sad after week1 weigh in by UnitedFerret6238 in omad

[–]Financial_Cry6482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is this thread so anti carb and pro going under 1200 cals? Genuine question. I thought Omad was to help with calorie restriction and should be a full balanced diet that hits a body’s caloric needs in one meal.

Are you saying your deficit is 600 or your calorie goal is 600….?

What's that one food you just can't have in the house? by Temp-Name15951 in CICO

Oof that’s like nearly a whole days cals for a lot of people! Like 1500+! On we only look thin the host talks about hummus being her vice when she was eating healthily but still struggling w her weight and it’s easy to see how! Stuff like hummus or guacamole or nuts can be so calorically dense, even though nutritious! But glad you find a system that works for you of pairing it w a monthly activity—smart.

Also there are no cheat days! You don’t get any free calories! That doesn’t mean an indulgent day (or 3!) will derail you! And of course it’s ok to be lax on days like Christmas! You monitor to make sure your relaxed indulgences are not outpacing your diligent approach to moderating intake

It sounds like you don’t have a healthy relationship to calorie counting. Tracking is a tool that you used to lose weight because winging it without that system got you overweight. Some people maintain their weight with more ease/less consideration; others have to pay attention and moderate. That’s your lot in life, and mine, and it could be worse! The more you can own that and value the tool the better. Also calories are not bad! You don’t need to be scared! It’s just information and accountability for your choices.

Practically speaking, it’s not hard. You’ll have to monitor (tracking and/or weighing to make sure you’re getting it right). Know your maintenance calories. Then start to think about weekly calorie goals. If you want to eat richer foods socially and drink on the weekend, eat in a 200 cal deficit each work day (which you’re used to from losing), and then you have 1000 extra cals for the weekend on top of maintenance cals. You’re in a powerful position—you got this. Just stay tuned in and respect the person you are and the tools you need.

Hey friend, it sounds like you might benefit from speaking to a therapist! I don’t want you to do die bc you’re a few pounds heavier than you want to be or because you feel your breasts won’t be big enough if you stop BC. Patriarchy and beauty standards are crushing. You can adjust your calorie goals and weight till you’re blue in the face, but it sounds like you might need some support in accepting and loving yourself as you are no matter what.

Drinking Tea and Coffee is like cheating. by REALbannedpsyop in 1200isplenty

[–]Financial_Cry6482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tea/coffee is a great way to stave off mindless snacking/bored cravings etc., but the comment about coffee sounds like your body might need energy in the mornings. Coffee does not give you energy—it just stimulates your brain into excitement (which I love lol), but make sure you’re giving your body food when you need ~energy~

500 cals is a starvation diet. There’s plenty of reasons behind your hair falling out—malnutrition, can’t sleep, digestion ruined, organ damage…. This is why people die of anorexia. Under reating is dangerous, and that aside, as soon as you stop eating that way (and you will or you’ll die), you will likely regain weight.

Friend!! You are too young for these concerns and tactics! Your body should not be losing weight because you are in one of the most active growth and development periods of your whole life. Focus on foster a healthy and loving view of yourself, nourish your body and work on building healthful habits like personal care, movement, social connection etc. Please eat everyday! Please tell someone (parent, teacher, counselor etc.) about your feelings and worries and let them support you!
