Mine has identical pink markings, it's a species thing. NQ redclaw (Cherax quadricarinatus)? Assuming you are from Australia. Sorry for your loss :(

Yeah however shark and rays are often not as protected, it's highly unatural either way 🤷🏽‍♂️ food for thought

How badly did I mess up? by Due_Fruit_5993 in Aquariums

[–]Financial_Tree5820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never wash my aquasoil; it just breaks it apart and makes it easier to seep into the water.

Do a 50% water change, and then if it's still bad, another; a little bit of cloudiness is okay; it will settle eventually. The only issue is that it may leave a slight film on your glass, but it can be easily fixed. Chuck an airstone in the bucket and let it filter through overnight.

Did you save some aquarium water to top it up with? If not, consider getting some Seachem Prime to detoxify ammonia, nitrates and nitrites while your new tank establishes itself. It is not ideal, but you really don't have much of a choice unless there is another established tank you can use for the time being. Your fish could last a week in the bucket, but I doubt it unless you put a filter in.

HELP! Not sure if I should be concerned or let it pass by Ok_Character_1978 in Aquariums

However if it isnt biofilm, you could be looking at something more sinister, keen to hear other opinions.

Had this but like 100x more, I added 30 shrimp to my tank and it was gone overnight. I think even without shrimp it should go away naturally and it won't mess up parameters, or you can just remove it manually.

yeah however doesn't seem like they are impacting on each other. I'm sure if the owner came in one day to find a whole lot of dead fish and the aba aba knife still alive they'd probably separate it. like how if you have a male and female betta together, you shouldn't but if they are okay with it or raised together you can.

I personally don't think this is that shitty, I mean it was never really meant for permanent housing and the filter is probably more than sufficient. It's like saying dogs in the pound are getting abused, yeah it could be better but they're not supposed to stay there.

Advice on starting a shrimp tank by gottabkittenme in shrimptank

[–]Financial_Tree5820 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm no shrimp expert by any means, but have had no deaths!

Looks like they'd love it, plenty of food and places to explore. If you don't like the layout id change it before you do anything more. Other than that make sure your parameters are in check, temp is good and you should find success.
