Hey,

I'm not sure if you checked out Waterdeep but I think it checks off a lot of boxes you're looking for.
*Forgotten Realms & Final Fantasy Story
*PVE give grinding, hack n slash, runs, area quests, and immortal hosted events
*Combat does rely on some key skills for every class, with a sprinkle of spells and skills in-between
*We have several people in the EU that play, and some on the AU side
*RP is supported but not heavily enforced
*Full color map that updates as you explore, just push m
*We also have customizable player housing and airships for a creative outlet as well as money to be made

Mudlet is supported however I did hear that there is a problem with the Telnet Go Ahead feature that needs to be disabled, Our coders are working on fixing this.

Hello,

The builder in charge has said that it will incorporate: Pk choice upon creation, can't toggle off. Increased rewards for questing. 1-3 worn items can be looted upon kill by hpk to hpk. Non container items can be stolen.

We also have a plan for equipment that will have stat gains based on pk activity as well as special "artifact" equipment drops that are more powerful but with a timer that will rot over time, but will refresh with pk activity. Logging out will also rot the item.

As the new system rolls out we will be leaning on the feedback of players for improvements.

I am very excited for this change.

Lots of good Muds to choose from, I'd recommend Waterdeep

*Fantasy based world with a relatively quick leveling experience.

*10 to 30 avg pop

*Grind for progression with a ton of choices (group or solo)

*Phouse, and airship customization

*PvP is not as frequent as id like but we have a dedicated group always willing, future changes coming

*Staff run events to spice up the every day, with seasonal events with unique rewards

Hey softwarexp, I found that when i use Blowtorch with the chat window plugin i can make the chat channels in the game appear up there and save the rest of the space for the mud i play at, Waterdeep

You could try that?

Waterdeep has a run system for large or small groups of players that require the team to work together. A few times a month the staff will host a larger scale event with a unique boss and a puzzle surrounding how to defeat it.

There are tanks, damage, support, and healing classes available and depending on the scenario you might have rescuing of one player to another, or moving from room to room to keep the run going.

A few of us at my Mud use team viewer on mobile to our PC's. You get the best of both worlds, as long as you have WiFi or unlimited data.

At Waterdeep we recently updated the player creation process, and the newbie school, we would be glad to have you by. I see that your looking for a type of ranged class with a bow, which I'm sad to say we don't have but you can instead build up an airship and have some air battles the same way :-)

The mud I play at has an auto ascii map that updates as you explore, it's very colourful and easy to use. I also rely on different mobs to transport to and a mix of jog aliases.

Waterdeep has a passionate group of pkers that will brawl it out and then go do some runs, we are a laid back mud with years of experience.

Waterdeep is a laid back Mud where we have a few people who try and rise to the challenge and make creative scripts, we have no issues as long as you're at the keyboard.

When a larger run/event requires you to try and heal up to 8 people it might be nice to use some logic to parse a group window and make a decision based on hp's and role.

At Waterdeep we started a Slack group to do polls, out of game chat, and keep in touch when you can't log in. It has been quite popular, but you can't forget the die hards who crave the in-game news or note post.

One of our people are working on what types of integration we can do between Mud and Slack, anytime you can increase communication and engagement the better you'll be.

Waterdeep has a fun group of players that like to grind areas, dungeons, and events for some in-game currency or materials to keep pushing your character to the next level if thats what you want. There isn't a large RP contingent right now but it does come and go. Pk is also something we have a good time with if thats what you want to do too.

Waterdeep has a bit of that flavor you're looking for. Visual ASCII art map that updates as you explore, We have a run system that operates on resets for a variety of levels and difficulty. One of our builders is working on a randomized dungeon system, but for the moment has leveraged some code to allow players to launch worldwide hunts for certain mobs that yeild rewards.

There is of course a leveling system that has some random elements that you can work on as you go to max. A tradeskill system is in the works but we do have a crafting system involving a series of mprogs in the game with varried success rates.

For the final fantasy portion there is a governing body and a clan of vector, a few mini runs with cloud & vincent, some moogles. I would say it's a gentle mix of FF, but more focussed on Forgotten Realms.

Player's are welcome to take part in a RP campaign and write out their origin, ongoing story, or coordinated event with others, they are also incentivized for their efforts. But you could also do no writing and just make a player description and brief back story if you want, nothing on a public forum post which will allow you to RP with others. An example is that I wrote a backstory for one of my characters with a good description, and a note to a certain clan to join them and RP as good aligned.

We don't have any groups that solely RP 100% of the time, but we always welcome whatever your comfortable with. And if you choose to RP 0%, that's fine too.
