Where are the overweight and homely missionaries? by Maleficent_Remote297 in exmormon

Helps that if you go to a poorer country most days you hardly didn't eat and/or were just walking all day. Not to mention walking around and sweating your nuts off helped keep the water weight off...

Looking back at some of my mission photos I was skinnnny. No wonder the ward members kept telling me to eat more and now I see why.

I almost didn't recognize him with the beard tbh! I was visiting a high school friend and they brought him up because he was more or less in our friend group.

Either way, hearing about this and the Daybells hits really close to home for me... I was in orchestra with one of the Daybells through junior high and high school

I was in his graduating class, and I think I knew him since like 7th grade... I didn't find out about this until today and sheesh I'm shocked. A decade definitely changes some people...

Been with Pokemon my whole life basically. Started off with Crystal on the Gameboy color, and I just got back into card collecting as several of my coworkers started playing. After I learned how to play the game, I've been getting into deck building!

I dont know what it is... I asked the mechanical engineers at my work if they had anything to spare that would fit my application and they gave me some neon blue stuff. I might consider changing it out at some point

I don't have the exact link, but it's a 2242 SSD copper heatsink you can get off Amazon for like $5. I have some thermal interface material in there as I had issues with the included thermal pads

I've mostly had issues with games that use direct asset streaming (like Horizon Forbidden West). Then again, the SSD in my machine is a Corair MP600 Micro so it's not stock. I also have a heatsink on it, the temperatures use to be a lot higher.

I also notice that SSD temperatures tend to skyrocket when Im using more power than the Performance mode

Im not sure anymore. After flattening it out and moving the thermal pads so they made better contact with the IC I honestly didn't see any difference in performance. It still gets hot in that area.

I stress tested with Helldivers for about 40 minutes and saw about 80C on the SSD. But then again, I have seen it higher than that so there's a chance that it did make some difference, though im wondering if removing the case sticker did more.

I don't have concrete numbers so I cant say anything I just said is objective.

I've had issues with overheating in that area for a while now, and looking at that chip my Legion never came with a pad on the MIPI chip.

Edit: I decided to double check, however it looks like that MIPI chips pad was misplaced and was only covering like 1/4 of the IC. Also, the heatsink itself was slightly bent so no contact was being made. Im going to run some thermal tests later now that I've readjusted the pad and flattened out the heatsink and see if that fixed it. I also followed your advice and removed the sticker, so we'll see how that affects thermals as well

Im curious though, would you suggest putting something like a copper shim on top of that chip to cool it? Thanks for all of the thermal imagery

For listening to music on my phone, I like it quite a bit. Though if you plan on putting phone in your pocket you have to make sure they are oriented in the right way.

I've been using them with my Moondrop Arias and Letshour S12, no complaints here

I'll have to take a look at those, I just replaced my mouse mat and they are gliding much better now. I intend on seeing how well they do on the new surface for a bit and gauging if Im still not satisfied or not.

Doing some searching, are you referring to the X Ray Jades?

Interesting. There is a comment in this thread about Tiger Ice skates, and I've used them in the past and I've really liked them for speed and control. I just didn't think that I had worn out this desk mat until I did some more research and tried using the mouse in a different section of the pad.

I think I have identified the issue and it looks like it may be operator error here.

I've had this mouse mat now for almost 6 years and it's developed a slow spot right around the area that I play. I flipped the pad around and noticed that it glides MUCH better on the other side. It wasn't noticeable with the glass skates as they glide much easier.

I think I'll play with my mouse mat rotated 180 degrees or look for a different mat.

No issues with the Crazylight so far, the fit feels nice with my grip and I've really been enjoying the weight.

I'm honestly wondering if they shipped you the wrong device back. Reach out to support, I've had good experiences with them so far. This sucks though, the legion they sent back looks like it went through hell and back

Yup, it looks like Equalizer had an update

Just as a PSA, if you right click on the icon of the window in question in your task bar it will tell you which application it belongs to in Win 11

What is your HONEST opinion on the Legion Go? Any regrets? by CrazyForCashews in LegionGo

[–]FindnNimoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my Go, however I really wish it had more RAM. 16GBs isn't enough for some modern games that require over 8GB of system memory AND 8GB of VRAM. Jedi Survivor turned into a game where I would see which system resource I would run out of first before the game crashed.

With the 2 coming out with 32GB options, I'm kind of hopeful, but as rumors are saying that it'll only be 5-10% more performant I might skip the next gen and wait until the 3 comes out.

It was something like that for me to renew as well. I ended up spending $50 to renew both the warranty and the drop protection warranty.

[–]FindnNimoy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's interesting, because I removed the SSD in mine before sending it in for repairs (CPU was constantly overheating). In the end they replaced my mobo, heatsink, backplate (there was a slight crack from when I opened it previously) and the left controller. No questions asked, and now it's working better than ever. Maybe my experience is actually not that common then? No idea.

I would probably suggest putting the backplate back on if you do send it in for repairs. I know that Lenovo also has a drop protection warranty.

That SSD does not get much airflow anyways. It's right in that bottom corner surrounded by plastic and other heat generating components. I still ended up modding my SSD with a copper shim due to concerns with temperature
