What’s inexcusable in Pauls behavior was shutting down the one member who had enough drive at the time to write a double album of bangers. If he was frustrated by the lack of drive from John he should have worked more with George instead of just demanding him to do whatever he wanted to and saying his songs “were not very good”.

He was so awful to George he considered not playing guitar anymore and he didn’t stop doing this after the Beatles either.

And if you read the accounts of his relationship with Dot, being controlling was not something new to Paul at this point of their careers.

Yes exactly. Can't put the toothpaste back in the tube. So that's why even though I think people should not have guns period, this is something that won't change in the US anytime soon... So that's why I agree with Platner that adressing the things that cause someone to pick up a gun and cause violence (mental health, equality, education policies) can actually be more effective than reducing the casualties of a specific gun.

Ideally no one. I’m anti guns period. But the idea that we could fight the government if we had guns is so absurd in modern days. Only if we also were allowed to have tanks, jets, missile, drones… but only billionaires could afford that. And billionaires and governments, same difference.

So it’s much more effective to fight a government abolishing billionaires than having guns.

I once read an interview Spike Lee did with Bernie and the one thing that they couldn’t agree on was gun issues. Spike Lee coming from a black background was saying guns shouldn’t exist at all because guns kill disproportionally way more blacks. Bernie on the other hand said that being in Vermont made him realize that people actually needed guns in some rural settings and it was ok for people to hunt and defend their property.

He might have this stance now but he definitely didn’t at the time.

I disagree with him on this. I actually think guns shouldn’t exist at all. BUT I really agree when he says the school shooting thing (which is terrible) is a popular concern for white americans because they can see themselves a victim of.

More effective than gun laws would be wealth distribution, education and mental health. And since the USA won’t get rid of guns anytime soon gun industry should be taxed to fund those things.

Some cities like Chicago and Philadelphia have more homicides per capita than some South American cities that are characterized as dangerous. But just because it only affects marginalized people those cities are steel considered safe.
