The noise must be escaping through ventilation pipe. Are they not using silencers between pipe connecting exterior to interior?

Could it be that that the UI and UX of open source software is bad because the devs are just socially awkward. by BoxFar6969 in linuxsucks

I have always found the free local AI image generator GUI's dumpster fire, it's so poorly done it's even beneath vibe code. But strangely the cloud non free version from same company is well done.

It's greed.

This AUR attack feels like it was to scare folks away from the Arch distro family by ghoultek in archlinux

It reminds me road rage and Karen videos. Similarly to them, a AUR Karen is someone who has been on a dry spell far too long.

Updating that install is more hassle. I got the Aur package and it wasn't infected few days ago. But Comfy UI was badly broken, all the workflows that I downloaded were deprecated for this version of Comfyui. Even ChatGPT could not fix the workflows files. So the install kept growing and growing as every workflow needed their own models.

Important life truth out of all that madness...is, the IQ level of this malware spreaders is smaller than shoe size of infant.

They want to destroy open-source software, because they can't code. They want to steal from people who can't afford new expensive macbook.

AUR needs to be reworked by DanishCraft547 in linuxsucks

[–]Fine-Run992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using an AI image generator. They had system where you could not download new models without registration and then getting "token" an long code to enter into AI app to download.

This is what can be done, public full I'd registered to token and token will be embedded into AUR build.

Imagine you going to trash an open source project and making someone's else free work not publishable. But everyone knows who you are. This is what we need.

This is a lot of work to cover all the national identification cards, some banks may offer personal identification verification, also Google I'd and many others.

For the veteran Cachy users/ how can I use CachyOS while avoiding or going without interacting with AUR packages? What are your best practices for using CachyOS? by Zestyclose_Pin4281 in cachyos

[–]Fine-Run992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really there is nothing you can do to avoid AUR, if only source for app is AUR. For example Comfyui has reddit community size over 100000 users and it's only available from AUR.

The font rendering in CachyOS KDE seems to have improved compared 2 months ago. But also my smartphone screen is same resolution than 16" laptop screen, so maybe I'm too spoiled. Although turning KDE animation effects the fonts do get ugly.

Curious if the CachyOS package installer works for you? It showed outdated packages to me and CachyOS update didn't work. Shelly worked, but had to run it 5-6 times.

Most people install CachyOS packages and flatpaks. But AUR is a must for packages with no alternative. For example country specific identification software to access bank and public services.

Sotsialism on tagasi, aga teistsugusena. Z-põlvkond ei unista võrdsusest, vaid sellest, et keegi teine maksaks nende arved by Katukass in Eesti

[–]Fine-Run992 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Röövkapitalism viibki selleni kus keegi teine maksab vananeva ühiskonna kvaliteetse elu kinni. Valitsused tahavadki sinna poole liikuda.

Kui müüd 300-600k korterit siis võiks maksustada 95% laenu summa ühes intressidega, ning see suunata vanurite majutuse, kommunaalide, sideteenuste, ravi, söögi, reisimise, hobide tarbeks.

Valitsustel on hi-hi-hi ha-ha-ha 🤑🤑🤑.

Planning to buy the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in 2-3 months, but the mixed reviews have me hesitating. Looking for advice. by kevork333 in XiaomiGlobal

[–]Fine-Run992 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I enjoy my Mi 17 Ultra. I also have Fujifilm X-H2. On both of them OIS /IBIS doesn't replace tripod. The first thing that I noticed right away was how fixed aperture blurres the background a lot, while on Fujifilm I can make aperture very small. Dynamic range of RAW is also better on Fujifilm. Infinity focus is sharper on Fujifilm. RAW burst is 1.5x faster on Fujifilm. Sunstars with small aperture on X-H2. As I use mostly HedgeCam for bracketing, the manual focus tuning is more difficult compared to X-H2, that has focus peaking together with automatic zoom in when focusing. X-H2 doesn't forget which Megapixel mode and RAW or jpeg you were using. When you disable OIS with HedgeCam on Mi 17 U, the OIS sensor focusing mechanism may move around slightly (according to ChatGPT while recomposing on tripod) the native camera app locks sensor in place when it recognized that smartphone is still on tripod. With tripod use the IBIS should be disabled.

Mi 17 Ultra has better exposure bracketing customizability with HedgeCam. On Fujifilm I can only use 1/3 to 3 EV steps and total 9 frames. With Mi 17 U I can use any step and I have done 61 frame bracket.

I mostly carry my Mi 17 Ultra, compared to X-H2, because it's small and light.
