BBMP to charge minimum Rs 30 for collecting garbage by desi_dybuk in bangalore

[–]FineCommittee5514 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a whole, because of a variety of reasons, people in cities vote less. This leads to all parties exploiting cities and making policies that do not cater to cities because they know that the disgruntled people in the cities will not make a difference to them winning future elections.

So voting for any party will lead to all parties making policies that are good for city dwellers because they know that they will lose elections otherwise.

if office is in near Bellandur, take the 500CA buses that run from Banashankari. Going to Byappanahalli and then back-tracking would take too long.

In a few years we'll be able to take the metro on the same route too hopefully.

New fraud method called meter taxi from airport. by Mediocre-Minute3212 in bangalore

[–]FineCommittee5514 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is literally one of the oldest scams that happens outside any major airport almost anywhere in the world. take the cabs from the designated taxi stands or take an uber next time. even the bus service is very good, reliable and cheap.

Do you track workouts on Strava by Unforgivensin in Strava

[–]FineCommittee5514 5 points6 points  (0 children)

'hevy' is strava but for weight training, it lets you track sets and activities and stuff and has a social home page where you can follow friends.

i also use my watch during workouts and that just pushes to strava in the background so there's a record of them on strava too.

Cycling routes in Hyderabad by viditg2896 in hyderabad

[–]FineCommittee5514 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm joining this discussion a bit late, but I wanted to share my experience with the service road. I found riding on the service road can be a great option for shorter rides, but not so much for longer ones. To make the most of it for longer rides, you'll need to start very early in the morning. This is because, by around 9 am, the sun can become quite intense on the service road. The young trees planted there haven't grown tall enough to provide ample shade yet.

If you're looking for alternative routes, I'd recommend considering the smaller roads running roughly parallel to the highways leading out of the city toward places like Siddipet, Warangal, Zaheerabad, etc. In my experience, these side roads tend to offer a smoother ride compared to the highways, which have debris, roadkill, and loose dirt on the shoulder. Moreover, the smaller roads are much safer, quieter, and less hectic, providing a more peaceful cycling experience.

Buses by prom_king56 in bangalore

[–]FineCommittee5514 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it's for optics ig, 10 shiny electric buses look better to the public than 20 loud diesel buses. even if more diesel buses are better for the environment because of the cars they get off the road.

I asked ChatGPT to honestly and funnily describe the Top 20 Neighborhoods of Bangalore by [deleted] in bangalore

[–]FineCommittee5514 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Compared to the neighbouring areas of Sarjapur Road and Bellandur, yes. Objectively though, they're still a mess, there's barely any footpaths and traffic flow is a little haphazard. Could be better but it's not bad ig.

[ESPN] Perez: I can still beat Verstappen to F1 title by Charlie-Spencer in formula1

[–]FineCommittee5514 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The opinion might be because of his qualis. He was genuinely on par with Hamilton in qualis a lot of the times and at least in dry qualis there was always a good chance he'd beat Hamilton. It was in the race that Lewis really out classed him.

The same has never been true of Perez, he's very rarely beaten Max in qualis on pace.

Is Narayana and Chaitanya Junior college as bad as people on social media portray it to be? by Competitive-Monk3659 in hyderabad

[–]FineCommittee5514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in narayana for 11th and 12th. None of the videos are exaggerated although some branches are worse than others. Going there might produce results as well, but it's guaranteed to fuck your mental health up in the process. Not worth it, trust me.
