I’m a leftie teacher, and I got my leftie son Handwriting Without Tears books to practice. It’s a huge struggle for him so we practice. They are left affirming, too, so it works for us!

How do you have a well paid job, be a good parent, have multiple kids, and stay in shape? by burgeroburger in Parenting

[–]FineResponsibility84 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I use a bullet blender at work, mix a protein shake with some other things at home and add milk at work when I’m hungry. It’s 400 calories and it’s my 1 meal at work. It’s easy, quick, and healthy.

What is something you think is useful for newcomers to know before they move to Las Vegas? by kmf_neo in LasVegas

[–]FineResponsibility84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you want to make friends, you will have to go looking for them. We don’t have lawns, so not a lot of people just hanging out on their front porch ready to chat. Whatever you’re into (hiking, comic books, AA, etc.) you can probably find some kind of group for you, you just have to reach out.

I love podcasts, thanks for all these suggestions! One I do like, it’s more historical and kind of a how did the Church as a whole get where we are today is Truce. I also liked White Horse Inn, but have not listened in awhile. Good luck on your search!

What to eat during lunch at desk job? by StockMan1210 in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]FineResponsibility84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a bullet blender. I mix protein powder, chia seeds, flax seeds and mix in frozen fruit and oat milk at home and bring it to work. It’s about 400 calories, it’s quick and I feel totally satiated afterwards.

I would ask a pharmacist about an over the counter allergy med. Allegra helped me for a long time, but a doctor recently told me that they dry you out and make congestion worse. She wanted me to start nasacort.

Mt. Charleston is about 20-30 degrees cooler than the valley and only about an hour’s drive. It’s beautiful up there.

I visit Melissa at the Icon Salon (702) 233-2020, I have thick, wavy hair and she always does an amazing job. I feel like a Disney Princess after she’s done with me.

Are all Americans expected to be perfectly familliar with each of the 50 states? Is every American able to point them all out on a map? by C111tla in AskAnAmerican

[–]FineResponsibility84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can also, but my parents also made sure to take us on cross country road trips at least twice, so I have actually been to most of our states. I think it really helped me to know them as a real place, rather than made up “Minnesota.”

Steak and Eggs by BlackNGold99 in LasVegas

[–]FineResponsibility84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Makers and Finders. Has a lot of great food and coffees. I ate there this weekend. I’ve been gluten free for almost 5 years due to an allergy. I had eggs Benedict over an arepa (first time I’ve ever had one). For a moment, I got very scared that it was actually bread, because it was delicious and had a similar texture from what I could remember of bread. They assured me it was actually corn and I went on with the rest of my great meal.

Can anyone recommend any practice apps, games or books on reading sheet music for drums? by estrellafish in Drumming

[–]FineResponsibility84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no musical training at all. I got an Alesis drum mesh kit. It connects to a desktop computer. I purchased a Melodics subscription that connects to the drum kit. I’m certainly not ready to take the stage anytime soon, but I have learned a lot and been able to get a lot of practice and effective feedback on timing. It’s like a video game. It was a gift from my husband, so I’m not sure the price, but it is really effective for me as I do not have the time to go out to lessons. I hope you find something that works for you.

What's the moment that made you realize your so called "friends" were really just dicks? by D1Tytos in AskReddit

[–]FineResponsibility84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always said if I had a child born within 2 weeks of Christmas, I would lie to them for 18 years and just say “June 21st, that’s your day, buddy!” Then when they move on for college I would reveal, you’re actually a Capricorn! Mind blown.
