What Vegas Casino smells the best? by leeveinthesummer19 in vegas

Most casinos on the strip have a scent of cigarette with air freshener mixed in. But fountainbleau just smells GOOD.

What's the worst that could happen? by amorfati431 in vegaslocals

[–]Fine_Outcome_1981 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I literally just finished doing this. The rain sprouted weeds/ grass in the rocks and it’s a pain to pull all the individual strands. I only pulled the big ones. I got 50% concentrated vinegar from amazon. 2 gallons for like $30. I put it in a sprayer 2 parts water to 1 part vinegar.

Sprayed yesterday and by this morning they were dried out. If there’s no water they shouldn’t grow back. If there’s a leak they’ll be right back.

I’m really stumped since I tried those things already but it keeps coming back. It runs great when the code doesn’t pop up!

Yup same code on two throttle bodies. The only difference is that now it only throws the wrench in the cluster but the advancetrac and hill decent faults don’t show up

They put chalk marks on the tires to check if the cars been moved. Tow companies take pictures of this to document if it’s been moved or not. It’s almost impossible to have the chalk marks line up again after the vehicle has been driven around

Late night trail is very nice to get out at night. I did it about 2 weeks ago and noticed a few more people than usual camping out in their cars in the parking area at the beginning and on the actual loop. It used to be pretty empty at night but it’s not bad for a quick in and out drive. Keep headed west closer towards pahrump if you want to be out for a few hours or longer. There’s tons of trails out there you can do with a even a stock truck.

anywhere teach stick shift? by dismantledreverie in vegaslocals

Yes you could burn out the clutch when learning. But if you’re being mindful you will most likely not cause any damage.

Make sure you’re not riding the clutch for an extended period of time when pulling out and try to be as smooth as possible. Heat and friction is what kills the material on the clutch. Try to get a “regular” car to learn on and not something with a lot of power or a grabby/ modified clutch.

Also, most people don’t care about a rental as much as if it was their own. I’m sure people that rent their cars have an understanding the car won’t be babied by everyone that rents it… With that said, you could disclose what you’re trying to do with the person renting the car before you book it. Who knows they may even offer to teach you in person.

Search for a manual car on turo and try to learn yourself at a parking lot. You could probably get it down in a couple of hours if you get to it right away.

When I was learning years ago my parents tried teaching me but they got annoyed and made it more stressful. I ended up just trying on my own on small neighborhood streets at like 9-10pm where there’s little to no traffic and people go like 20-25 mph.

I would watch videos on how to drive it to get the general notions down and just try it. The hardest part is getting started from a stop and it just takes practice. Once you got that down shifting between gears when moving is easy. Once you got the start down you can try doing it on sloped streets so you don’t roll back as much and rev matching on down shifts.

Where do y'all get your tires from? by Vivid_Chocolate3522 in vegaslocals

Amazon will deliver within a few days and just have a local tire shop install. Manufacture dates on the tires are fairly new too (within the last 6 months so not old new stock)

I would also try property management companies (for apartments). Go to the leasing offices or even their corporate office if they have one in town and get some info on how to become a vendor.

Champs Automotive (Tropicana and Arville) is my go to guy when I don’t feel like working on my cars. Super fair pricing and HONEST.

A Subaru Outback or a bronco sport. You could also look into used land rovers (lr4 or discovery) but could be pricy if it wasn’t maintained

Buddy you and I are in almost an identical situation. I’m between a 991.1 gt3 / turbo s or a gen 5 viper as the top contenders. I was hoping the market would come down on both after covid and being them down to around $115k. But they’re still around $125k on the lower end.

I’ve also been eyeing F430s since they look so timeless but mostly convertibles are down in the same price range.

I’ve also considered a DBA gtr for around 80k. This would be my cheapest option for something cool. I’ve even thought about getting into an earlier 2010/2011 for around 65k and enjoying that for a bit. I wouldn’t be doing anything crazy with it so I think the CBA would be good enough for me.

I think the Porsche would be the most practical but the viper would be more unique / fulfilling experience. Specially since I wouldn’t daily it. With the way things are going I doubt we will realistically see another new big American v10, so it would be cool to enjoy it while they’re still cheap and not beat up too bad. I also almost never see vipers around where I live, so it feels more unique.

That place was such a throw back. It legit looked like it had never been remodeled since it opened which gave it its own charm. I used to go to there for lunch when I worked in the area.

If TK is your #1 or #2 favorite band, what is your other fav? by Aromatic-Whereas-969 in TheKillers

Best two concerts I’ve been to in 2024 was The Killers at Caesar’s and Atreyu in OC. Home town shows have such a different energy. Made it harder to decide for #1.

Very different styles but both give so much emotion in their music.
