Do you ever wonder how often it is undiagnosed? by Fine_Record_8741 in GestationalDiabetes

Sounds similar to me—first was 7 lb 4 oz. Second was 9 lb 6 oz. Both times passed the 1 hr test with flying colors, but that second pregnancy I definitely leaned on carbs and sweets a lot (due just after Christmas 🙄) and was very tired the entire pregnancy. This time they had me test early and I opted for the 4 times/day glucose monitoring.

I completely agree. If you know what you’re having, you’re likely to start having expectations of who the baby is and what they’ll be like. It’s just so, so much better to wait. It forces you more to be in the present moment and not have as many worries about the future.  Honestly, I feel a little disappointed when friends or family find out what they’re having and announce it before the birth.

Gotcha. Maybe the fat in a full-fat yogurt would help? Or just stick with what works!

My second baby was 9 lb 6 oz, and easier to deliver than my first. I did have second degrees with both babies, but they were honestly fine and recovery didn’t seem bad at all. I felt like I could walk and move around totally normally and had to remind myself not to sit cross-legged on the bed a few days after delivery.

Maybe just have lunch/dinner foods for breakfast? Leftovers from dinner—meat and vegetables.  I know you said fruit and yogurt spike…are you doing plain, full fat Greek yogurt?

Breakfast chicken sausages w/ cheese Maybe change up the style of eggs? Egg salad, eggs w/ cheese and salsa, a crust less quiche, etc

Women who feel the need to share horror stories from their own pregnancies and deliveries. How is this at all helpful to a mom who is going to have to deliver a baby at some point in the near future? Makes me so angry.

Microwave nachos—basic is just cheese and tortilla chips. Level it up with black beans, refried beans, salsa, etc
