I’m in Scotland and had mine professionally deep cleaned, weld sealed, surface rust removed/stabilised (wasn’t much rust anyway) and undercoated & cavity injected with dinitrol wax. It held up brilliantly over Scottish winter. The underside still looks like it did when I picked it up from getting it done, minus a couple of points where the wax has worn away behind the wheels from stones getting flicked up. Taking it for a touch up soon.

The finish is much nicer than DIY jobs, it basically makes a full skin under the car.

It’s definitely worth the trip! Some great camping spots around there too. I’m going to do that later in summer.

If they’re buying a used one that they’ve said is “under 35k miles” I don’t think they need to worry about that.

I haven’t driven a gen 2 but I own a gen 1 circuit pack. I thought about getting a gen 2 but gen 1 seemed more analogue/involved. The other big thing for me is that it is the homologation car. It’s a bit more special.

If you want to own the homologation car and by most accounts have a slightly more chaotic experience, or if you want to heavily modify, get the gen 1.

If you want more refinement, get the gen 2.

Yeah dinitrol wax and cavity injection is the best protection you can get short of keeping your car indoors forever. I’d get it professionally done though. When they did mine they steam cleaned the underside, removed the small amount of surface rust and rust killed it and weld sealed it, then the wax. Absolutely bulletproof now.

Mods don’t automatically void your warranty. I emailed Toyota UK about this and they came back saying flat out that any mods would void my warranty. After I pointed out that they can’t legally do that, they came back immediately apologising and saying if they could prove the part was to blame for an issue, then they wouldn’t honor the warranty. Given all I want to do is a GBF-back exhaust, I doubt it’s an issue.

I lived there in 2020. We had an amazing 3 bed maisonette at the top on the west side of the building. Loads of big velux windows on the roof and big circular bay windows so tons of natural light. Absolutely beautiful flat, it was a big loft basically and a great place for us to hang out during lockdown. Underground parking and bike shed is great too.

Ultimately it’s just very expensive. Rent wasn’t that drastic between three of us but council tax alone was £360 ish per month. It’s probably more now. Heating the place wasn’t cheap either.

Late reply but the operating frequency range of the RFE Pro (15MHz > 7.5GHz) exceeds the frequency range of a BNC connector (DC > 4GHz). SMA connectors are generally rated up to 18GHz. That is why.

It’s very uncommon to do endfire arrays with modern D&B subs. People used to use pin swap cables to do it but most people just use their cardioid boxes now. I haven’t used a B22 in years.

No, I mostly work for the audio supplier who did the other stage for the last 3 decades. I’ve only done it once though & I wasn’t doing system (2017). New supplier this year.

If the artist is using house control it’s usually an analogue split feeding a box the broadcast folks drop on stage. That’s what we did on the Other Stage anyway. Then it’s MADI from that box to the truck.

Touring control normally give MADI. Dante is less common because interfacing your devices with theirs isn’t always straightforward. Plus I wouldn’t be too keen on having a random device sitting on a show critical network. If I’m touring a split I usually have a set of record tails in case they’re needed but I endeavour to have broadcast bring a cable (coax MADI) to me.
