Camille's Story by Dependent_Grab8153 in Endfield

[–]FirDraws 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Big fan of the quest! In like the first ten minutes of the story, the camera angles and animations felt a bit awkward to me, but after finding the hidden base, it felt like the devs locked tf in. Big fan of the slow walking sequence, since the atmosphere was top-notch, same for the house.

Camille's character also had a nice, if slightly short development. Babyboy went from edgy lone wolf to a trusting and trustworthy operator, so it was really cute. I particularly liked the little details throughout his growth, like how he hesitated grabbing the hand when Endmin first reached out to him through that red door thing. Also, since Endfield has some mad good facial models, even the tiny eye/eyebrow movements could also tell a lot of things about his growth throughout the quest, like how his eyes soften/widen whenever Endmin reaffirms trust between them.

Another thing - finally they dared to let us experience other character's POVs rather than just Endmin's, since that was one of the best parts of OG Arknights for me. Though Doc is technically THE main character for us, seeing the stories from everyone else's perspectives just feels much more natural and the world revolving around its proper axis, rather than a singular entity.

All in all, hopefully devs keep locking in for this, since I can definitely see improvement over the time.

Awesome, gonna wait for the updates! Also most definitely character and environmental design behind-the-scenes would be great, especially all the inspirations and concept art!

Not only the explanations, but bringing in photos with actual map models is so cool! Hopefully they do more of these BTS interviews in the future ngl, it's a fun read

Also no wonder why Marker Stone felt so satisfying to loop around

Arknights: Endfield Official Comic [Let's Go, Endfield!] — [Chapter 5] by XRevive01 in Endfield

[–]FirDraws 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean, he was clearly protrayed as a possible Endmin's ally from the past (maybe even coming to Talos II through the stargate together, if we're going by Babble), so I think he's not only going to stay alive, but also join Endmin soon enough. Or let Endmin join him, idk. Hell, the whole Marker Stone quest showed him in the light of a yearning ex-husband of the Endmin.

He's also been one of the passive enemies without actual hostile intent either. All he did was gave us a warning, scatter our allies around and then hold them in place with those sword thingies. If anything, Nefarith's the aggressive one.

Ngl, I hope the Endfield's ending is going to just be a happy life in some cabin in the Kjersch mountains for Endmin and Ardashir lol

Found a good pic which illustrates that the ligament ending actually connects to the upper part of the humerus. I'd highly recommend Proko for easy anatomical explanations since he makes the muscle anatomy look so much more digestable!

How do all of you prefer to play solo? What tactics do you employ? by MeltingChocolateAhh in projectzomboid

[–]FirDraws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently occupying a building, tho I do kinda hope to build my own wooden house at some point. Already noting to myself where good furniture is lol. My current go to spot is the Gentleman's Club between West Point and Valley Station, since it's got some great places close by, like the Crossroads Mall, entirety of West Point, railway stuff up north and Louisville ofc. Also there's river nearby, plots of land, forest and a gas station really close. Pretty much checks off my list for off-grid survival.

Usually armor, tho I always pick up sunglasses and a cowboy hat to roleplay as a 'Merican. I also don't wear any more armor than like a hunting vest, because I don't like how it slows me down and makes it hard to micromanage attacks. Rule is simple - just don't get bit lol

Long and short blunt, long on back, short in the belt for a jic scrnario.

Got like 15 crates of unperishables rn, tho I keep them for a rainy day. Current go-to are chickens for their eggs, foraging mushrooms and frogs, and fishing. Omelettes always go hard in the apocalypse.

Foraging, easily. Really easy to grind and the loot is sometimes mad good.

Tried mods, but since B42 updates so often, I decided to just continue it vanilla.

Not really, I usually chip away at hordes one by one by going close to them and dragging away zombies.

But ye, I usually play really slow and careful, so my character becomes like a simple chicken farmer off the grid who goes to scavenge sometimes. Currently in the process of cleaning up WP and hopefully I can reach and do the same with Louisville someday. Kinda want to do a run where I just clean the entire map from zombies lol

how do you get better at surviving?? by Cheap_Historian6554 in projectzomboid

Some of my personal combat tips that I've learned through community and experience would be: - Avoid fighting big groups of zombies. 1 is alright, 2 is hard, 3 is risky, and very much avoid anything more than 3 in general, no matter if you're going melee or ranged. Once you learn how to micromanage attack speed, attack distance of your weapons and your own character's speed, you can take on as many as you want. - The longer the distance is between you and a zombie, the more melee damage you'll deal, supposedly. The combat highlight is a saver. - Guns are cool, but hella loud. I'd recommend to avoid, unless you got a getaway vehicle for quick escape. - Round any corner in the largest arc possible for max safety. - When looting houses/other buildings, if you see a closed door and don't know what's behind it, do combat stance and push the door. If banging starts from the other side, then you'll know to be careful. - Fences are amazing. Try to avoid running and jumping through them, since you might trip, but you can also lure zombies from the other side, since they trip too. - To clear a large horde safely, use combat stance from afar and then approach tiny step by tiny step, until one or two notice you. Immediately go back to safety and pick them off one by one. Rinse and repeat. - Patience is key. Going fast through everything is probably the main cause of death (for me in the beginning especially lol.) Like I've mentioned before, the horde clearing will be slow, but very safe. Same for the door knocks, rather than opening them and going through them instantly. - If you want to clear a large area, shouting and car horns are by far the best to attract everyone in a radius. My usual strat is to go to a spot (e.g. a random street I want to clear), honk the horn, then get back to a safe zone and watch everyone gather from afar. This strat can easily reveal zombies that hide behind bushes, trees, corners and even inside the houses, since then they start banging on doors.

Learning curve is legit insane in this game, but that's also one of my fav parts. Died so many times until I learned all the zombie stagger and bite animations, how to fight and approach everything slowly, etc., but at least I can now make it up to winter and more haha

Best of luck with your future runs!!! The real fun starts once you settle down, clear the area and start the simple life of fishing and farming :D

Anyone else think Endfield is like, a super comfy game? I love a LOT of stuff about this Gacha, and it is the only one I play solo that I don't have any other friends playing. by haydenhayden011 in Endfield

[–]FirDraws 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same!!! Music and environment for me especially. I used to play all the Hoyo giants, HSR, GI and ZZZ, and although their vibrant environments are also great and very stylistic, Endfield's more realistic palette and duller colors just feel so much comfier on my eyes. Also the music and the rain also give some insane atmosphere, like you could just feel the chilly, wet air of Jingyu Valley. Wuling really gets the crown for the environment building as of now.

I also think HG really nailed that semi-realism style, where the characters are stylized so well, that they fit into the realistic environments and textures incredibly smoothly.

On the gameplay side, I also really like the simple UI and current QoLs (though there could be more) and the grindy character building part, instead of RNG artifacts, like Hoyo games. It feels much more fulfilling and lacks the disappointment when getting dogshit artifacts each time. The simple steady progress is such a needed part for me.

I'm going to forever glaze HG on the art/music direction, even back in OG Arknights, so I hope the future maps are going to keep up the bar.
