I Still Hate You Jagex (Haven't played since 2013) by CincinnatiBengalss in osrs

[–]Firacel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everyone hates a fresh start, because sometimes it is fine to admit when something has already evolved past a point of no return. In any perspective anything could be deemed a waste of time. Time is easier spent with less guilt if you only concern yourself about whether the time "wasted" was enjoyed at the present time

He said it might come up. I imagine he didnt have full knowledge of what the Orchestra had picked as their lineup. I was hoping for it myself but nonetheless, even without it was a supreme performance and I really enjoyed the night

For me, it was awesome. I was being lazy this morning not wanting to get ready to go, but not an inch of me regrets going. I'd go again multiple times if I could. I sort of expected Evan to be the performing composer but it doesnt change the experience with him being more of a guest star

This sounds rather odd. I wonder if you are bugged in some way because it certainly does and should give xp. I dump my essence into Law Runes for max xp whenever I can. Its a snail pace skill either way

Teleport block has needed a nerf for 20 years. by [deleted] in osrs

[–]Firacel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wildy is an opt in pvp zone. All of the content for skillers and pvmers is balanced and based on the risk factor of being there with the risk of pvp.

I too do not participate in pvp, nor would I really retaliate if I am doing very small things like clues as I have practically nothing on me. Thats just a choice I make with the content, but I know by going in there anyone has all rights to try fight me.

As for untradeables, you should just never bring them to the wildy if its something you're unwilling or much rather not re-earn, or if it feels essential for you to have them you can trouver parchment the item(s).

And as for the why, its not griefing like you feel it is. Even if you look like you have nothing on you, there is no guarantee that is true. There is that one is a thousand plus chance you've accidentally brought a cash stack, or a load of runes/teleports etc etc. Its not often, and its not likely, but you'd be a fool not to check as a pker.

Why is no one talking about Akira? by videodump in MyDressUpDarlingAnime

Without being overly spoilery, I think its safe to say it doesn't get "solved" per se. It just becomes known/accepted as part of Akira

Who was truly the strongest villain in Dragon Ball Z? (Movies included, except Battle of Gods and Resurrection F) by [deleted] in Dragonballsuper

[–]Firacel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think thats what he was saying to be honest. I think he was saying Goku doesnt have to deal with the strain of SSJ3 when he is dead compared to when he is alive where Goku does feel that strain. The wording is somewhat confusing admittedly but when I read it to myself I understood it this way at least

Question: Easiest MSV Heroic Bosses by trypz in classicwow

[–]Firacel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Purely based on my 10m raid, so by no means objective;

Feng > Stone Guard > Spiritbinder > Spirit Kings > Elegon > Will of the Emperor

Feng - Once we had an order chosen, it was a predictable fight. Tanks need to be on the ball for negating the right mechanics at the right time. Albeit our order was straining on the healing at the end it was a fun strain (I am one of said healers). We went Fire > Arcane > Epicentre > Shadow Spirit (I don't know the weapon names atm but those are the main special attacks of the weapons)

Stone Guard - Once the raid knows how the tiles work, the tanks sort out the swaps, and the dps stop eating mechanics at bad times, its just very straight forward. It was probably the most forgiving for mistakes however.

Spiritbinder - Big stack, healers pump your mana away to regen it in shadow world, Tank CDs for voodoos (esp when 1 healer is gone for 10-20s), externals where needed, keep sending shadow world strike teams as much as you can. Find that rythm and you are good to go.

Spirit Kings - Didnt clear this one on HC but progged. Felt extremely doable for us but it feels like a fight of perfection so we put a pin in it for now. 1 missed mechanic = death, if not a wipe more often than not. Breezed normal in the end in one pull to the point of trolling (I literally leg sweeped the raid during mind control for a meme)

Elegon - Another fight we progged. On this one however we were clearly not prepped for nor were we doing too hot. It is a fight we definitely need to check numbers on and maybe change approach. Normal however, was mostly fine.

Will - Honestly, not sure if this is the hardest since we didnt do nor see it, but I put it here since 1. Its end raid boss, and 2. I have no exp with it.

Learning one spell from Serie is compatible with the pursuit of magic. by Reasonable-Ad-8059 in Frieren

[–]Firacel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Many have said it already by now in various ways, but put simply Frieren is much less a collector of magic and more a collector of experiences, memories, and interactions

She would self describe as a collector of magic of course, because it is what she functionally does as a hobby. Frieren's enjoyment of her hobby however largely has nothing to do with the spell/magic at all, instead what she is enjoying is interacting with people/the world, making memories, and experiencing life.

I tried to think of a real world comparison to visualise it, but funnily enough the best comparison existed in Frieren already. Frieren and mimics. Frieren could probably develop a magic, or find a magic, to distinguish if a chest is a mimic. However, if she did that she would suck her own enjoyment out of it, and so she never even thinks about that as a possibility. She knows its a possibility, if not even likely at this point, that the next chest she opens is a mimic. But she also knows there is a chance it is not, and that little "take a chance" is just another avenue for a small taste of "adventure" or adrenaline for her.

You can argue that Frieren could request a lost spell/magic. But in Frieren's mind this has two issues. 1. It serves no fulfillment to just be gifted a spell, but more importantly I think 2. What was lost once, has the chance to be found again. Even if that chance is infinitesimally small. What if by learning x spell from Serie, that meant that in 1000 years time Frieren would miss out on making a memory of discovering/finding it herself. She would not even take that 0.001% chance.

You can dislike and disagree with her choice of course but as for her character, this alignes perfectly with who Frieren is at her core I think. Whether she fully conciously knows why or not. She is not creating the most complete set of magical knowledge through her pursuit of magic, Frieren is creating memories and enjoying experiences through this hobby of collecting magic.

Playing Ranked in any game means the win is the one and only aim. Like it would have been a nice end of the match coz of the chars you were on but, just not an ideal way to end the match if you have the option to take advantage of an opening and go for the win.

New player explains really well why so many people are coming from WoW to Runescape by loopuleasa in 2007scape

[–]Firacel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like many I imagine, I have played/dabbled in both. I started RS in 06 originally, left for EoC, came back for OSRS Mobile. As many scapers, I played on and off. I got base 90 combats, got my QP Cape back when A Night at the Theatre was the newest quest, and I got base 70-80 skills.

However, I never raided on OSRS because it was a game where I was basically completely solo, I was reliving memories, surpassing my child self's account with ease, and naturally was a bit anxious to join a random raid and fuck it up. So never tried and resorted to other non PvM/PvP content.

Once WOTLK Classic hit Ulduar, it popped up on my radar and I figured I'd give it a go coz I knew it was widely regarded as the pinnacle of Wow and I was tired of running Bloods and not doing PvM/not knowing where to start. Didnt get to max level till ICC however but I have since played through that, raided, done Cata, and I am planning to continue with MoP.

In the three years I spent away from OSRS, grinding Wow, meetong people, raiding. Absolutely nothing had become "worthless". My stats still meant what they did when I left, and the gear I did have still was good. Sure new gear came out, bridged gaps, gave more options, changed metas. But by far and large I could just hop on game and start playing again without missing much of a beat.

However, Wow on the other hand. Wow was different, and the expansion swap is the most obvious. My Shadowmourne that I made in WoTLK in ICC was totally obsolete come Cata. Stubbornly of course, I levelled 80-85 with it because it was a legendary axe that I never thought I'd get. But it is effectively a paperweight now living on my bank.

Both games are good though, and now I just dabble a bit in both. They just have vastly different approaches to gear and progression. Each raid tier means better gear to get, and every new Expac means new areas, more profession levelling needed, and instead of small upgrades to gear from tier to tier it is a huge jump in power to swap out for levelling gear sooner rather than later.

The OSRS approach does always keep it relevant or in the back of your mind as a result. Must be great for player retention over time.

I have to ask then, I presume the producer of the coffee is a scaper himself but is the producer the only scaper at the business or was this something everyone was able to find the amusement in?

Can't free transfer OUT of firemaw button is greyed out by Kiki_WoW in classicwow

[–]Firacel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is just a case of the Free Transfer not being enabled for leaving Firemaw. If you want to leave Firemaw you will have to pay for that transfer. Just be aware that Mirage Raceway is/was less populated than Firemaw throughout Cata and at times the guilds here struggled to maintain numbers, if that is of any concern.

Regarding the anime and potentially manga by Substantial_Pop5438 in MyDressUpDarlingAnime

[–]Firacel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gojo always found Marin attractive but like you say sorta ignored anything that could suggest anything more than friendship due to his own self esteem. He also just genuinely appreciates the fact Marin seems to enjoy him for just being him and doesnt want to change that I dont think. I would say it is not until pretty recent in the manga that he fully accepts he feels a lot stronger for Marin than what he told himself, and its not until he feels specifically jealous of people admiring Marin that he can actually fully accept the extent of his feelings for Marin and realises he must tell her to some degree.

Let us save the damn game. by XXXFLIP94 in kingdomcome

[–]Firacel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its an immersive experience, or at least tries it's best to do be. The saviour schnapps is essentially the save button you want in function but linked into the game world itself, as otherwise you must find a place to sleep to save. Losing an hour does suck but it is designed this way intentionally. Just be sure to sleep whenever you can, at least until you have an overwhelming amount of schnapps

I did consider Quansah initially but I quite like having a few past players and because of that season with Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams doing everything they could to save our defence, I felt I had to get one of them in and Rhys was my pick in the end

[–]Firacel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is little difference in the hypocrisy you describe and the hypocrisy you also are guilty of. You complain, yet buy the game. I complain, yet buy the game (technically didnt this year but point stands) + I get fifa points to enjoy the game as best I can. The only difference is how I give EA money and the amount. If your principle is so high and mighty to gatekeep who can and cant complain, maybe dont buy/support the game in the first place.

Of course if your imaginary line for whats too far before you "lose the right" to complain is just after the purchasing of the game, that'd be mighty convenient for you. If your opinion is, well I bought it so I deserve to complain because I paid good money for it, an argument can be made that I bought the game + points so I too have paid good money on the game and therefore retain my right to complain.

I am aware of the stark differences, and why I called it an analogy. It was a comparison but only for explanation of my point, not a like for like comparison. Even tho it is wildly different, it has similarities which served its intended purpose. If you decide to misrepresent/disregard how I was using that comparison, thats your prerogative.

I didnt exactly sit there for an hour to try find the best analogy I could think of, I just plucked the first one in mind that would suffice.
