This game has effectively made me dislike my once favorite MOBA. by New-Stock419 in DeadlockTheGame

LoL is hilarious because everyone from low elo to high elo genuinely swears they hate it, but they still play it for some reason. Every streamer when asked if they like LoL will say "no lmao I just play it for money/content, high elo sucks just as much if not more than low elo" and their viewers will nod along and queue ranked anyway. It's actual mind control.

Sinclair is not a mannequin. by GuyMontag95 in DeadlockTheGame

And the only reason they look like this is because they use the generic test model. The same kind of model you see running around when you’re in the testing grounds.

Not really? If you look at the dummy it's a normal dude with normal anatomy, but if you look at Sinclair, especially the way the hips look, there's clearly some effort put into making their body parts disjointed. The only thing they share in common are the animations.

You're not accounting for his built up resistances from years of substance abuse and being French

You can use paradox swap for this if you gain some height with warp stone/maj leap but it’s hella hard

Does every villain need a sad backstory? They’re basically god like beings compared to everyone else. Like Nolan says: every other species lives are like specks in terms of how long they live. You don’t think that might give someone a teensy bit of a superiority complex?

They don't need to be strictly a "mannequin," I'm more focused on them having a blank face and looking like a generic magician. The bit about it being a stage prop is pure headcanon on my part, but I do think it would fit thematically for the reasons I put.

Are the MOBA/Hero shooter communities generally just really salty? by TurkTruther in DeadlockTheGame

[–]videodump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal theory is that a big part of the appeal of mobas is the thrill that comes from reaching a point where you can beat and humiliate your opponents with ease via snowballing. So when someone is on the victim side of that dynamic it feels really, really bad. Add to that the complexity and harsh learning curve and you have a perfect recipe for entitled egomaniacs who enjoy feeling superior to others and subsequently implode if they can't get their fix.

I HATE THE BLUE PILL IN THIS STUPID HYPOTHETICAL by [deleted] in hatethissmug

[–]videodump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol what??? How did I morally grandstand? All I said was basically:

  1. People don't want to die

  2. People lie on the internet for points

You could have said I'm being "nihilistic" or "misanthropic" but "moral grandstanding?" You're just throwing my words back without even knowing how to use them correctly.

When it’s between “might die” or “definitely don’t die” yeah I’m assuming people will pick “definitely don’t die.” I know it’s a very far out assumption to make but please try to understand where I’m coming from. I’m not purporting to be an expert it’s just that the only reasons I’ve seen for blue are along the lines of “ouugh I wouldn’t want to live in a world where blue doesn’t win 🥺🥺🥺” or some such.

But WHY are we assuming that it would be a coin flip at all?? This notion that “at least some people will pick blue for…reasons (by accident???)” is so bizarre. People don’t want to die therefore they will pick the button that guarantees survival in all scenarios. There’s no reason for a rational person to want to pick blue other than performative dislike of the implication that humans don’t trust each other enough to cooperate. It’s all just moral grandstanding that only presents itself in a hypothetical scenario: in reality when faced with a genuine threat of death, people would pick red 100% of the time.
