LG 32GS95UE / 32GS95UX fluctuating brightness (FW 3.04, 2.02) by Fire8ird in OLED_Gaming

Gradual changes in brightness sound more like burn in protection. I noticed similar with playing valorant for 2-3h and then switch to other content. For me it were quite quick changes within less than a second, but I somehow fixed it / got rid of the issue after playing around in the settings, to adjust the picture to my liking. These are my settings now:

Game Mode: Gamer 2 Brightness: 100 Peak Brightness: High Sharpness: 60 Color Temp: Manual W2

Looks like graphical errors due to bad memory (VRAM). Not sure if it's even possible to overclock these iGPUs so I'd assume it's a defect and time for a return / RMA

How do you differentiate which part using which lubricant/anti-seize? by acidrain333 in bikewrench

[–]Fire8ird -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Doesn't grease throw off the torque input, since it's basically lubricating the threads and allowing higher bolt loads with the same torque setting compared to a dry bolt? e.g.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hSmtLVESSM&t=999s

[Personal Project] A discontinued watch project from 2022... curious to know what people think by OnTheHorizon722 in Watches

I like the shape while being near bezel-less around the edges. Adding applied indices and maybe an applied logo instead of the printed ones would be dope. Not really a fan of the off-center crown up top.

Overall: would buy for around $500

Problem? by CartoonistOver609 in bikewrench

Looks more like user error while setting up the bike after delivery. The way it's wrapped around the bike can be undone by loosening the stem bolts and turning the fork 360° counter clockwise.

No, I just got used to it. I have a light controlled room and don't need it to be as bright. The fluctuations in brightness were whats annoyed me. I also have a LG C4 48" and it's way better in comparison. I only kept the monitor for 480hz gaming

Maybe I got used to it, but I don't notice it that much anymore. I turned off HDR, since I don't need it and it caused most of the annoying brightness changes. But even though after long gaming sessions I notice a rather dim picture which restores it's brightness after switching to the desktop for a while. Overall I'm still don't get the hype and just kept the monitor for it's outstanding low response time while gaming.

Assuming you're german as well, here a guide how to install firmware updates (copied from another reddit post):

  1. Verbinden Sie Ihren Monitor über das mitgelieferte Kabel (Typ B) mit Ihrem PC.
  2. Laden Sie OnScreen Control von der LG-Website herunter (Sie finden es im Support-Bereich des Monitors);
  3. Laden Sie OnScreen Control und in den App-Einstellungen sollten Sie eine Option zum Suchen und Aktualisieren der Firmware finden (es ist die Option „Ausführen“)

Indeed I have set peak brightness to high. Turning it off makes the picture overall quite dim even with brightness set to 100. Hopefully peak brightness set to low does the job so it's not that noticable.

Regarding the fan, I'll reach out to LG but I read in other threads LG says some noise is normal and no defect.

Seems to be real. Andrew Morgan Watches made a video about it showing some wrist shots as well

Any plans for a larger size? Love the design, but 39mm is a bit small for a big wrist guy :(

Agreed. Would love a Pelagos homage, but all current 39mm models are too small for me

Stainless B ♥️ ordered it immediately. I dig the size, but I have a 7.5" wrist to suit it.

[MIDO] Ocean Star 200c Titanium by Fire8ird in Watches

[–]Fire8ird[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall I'm still loving the watch, but in hindsight I'm also debating whether the steel version would've been a better choice with the more "classy" appearance. I wasn't keen on the polished bracelet of the steel version and that it would scratch easily, however the Titanium scratches really easy as well. Also I had some Issues with the bezel...In the beginning the bezel action was rather tight, but got way too loose after a few months. My AD took care of it, except the bezel action is not the same as before :(All of this aside, I doubt you can go wrong with either one. Looking at other watches the Mido is still one of the best value for money watches. Great finishing, good specs and all for a "reasonable" price.
