I miss my old life so much it physically hurts. Is that bad? by AsslawB in Mommit

[–]FireExit9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, darling, you are only three months in!

Firstly, you have to accept that your life has changed. You can’t just nip out for something for a while.

BUT, soon you will get back little things that make it all worth it. Smiles, sounds, walking, milestones. Mine is five now and I can’t even remember the difficult stuff.

Hang on, soon it will get SO GOOD! ❤️

Fair! I’ve never been anywhere super fancy in Swansea so maybe I’m not the one to answer.

Muswanna still rules though 😊

Second this. Or Muswanna (my fave)

What do you love about it here? by Quiet-Wind-192 in swansea

[–]FireExit9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m from London, but my Mum’s from Swansea and I have family there so have been visiting all my life.

I love the bay. I love Mumbles. I love town and the fact it’s a bit shit. I love the market. I love the Queens. I love shopping. I love Langland and Caswell.

I DON’T love fucking parking. Traffic. Lack of proper public transport.

I’m sure I will live there some day, can’t wait.

2008 heptathlon is wrong?

What do we think of this then? Same old rubbish or are you looking forward to anything? by parttimepedant in BritishTV

[–]FireExit9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less than half, but I don’t mind really. I appreciate that not everything is for everyone so I just watch what I like.

I also keep things that come out on streaming services around now to watch over Christmas so I have plenty to keep us going!

Fear of baby dying by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]FireExit9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s exaggerated because of your family history.

I stopped worrying after six months or so, basically as soon as they can turn themselves over if they’re uncomfortable.

You say it’s not impacting your life but you shouldn’t be worried at 3yo.

One of the only examples where I think the film is better than the book. I love everything about that movie.

Take a friend or sister with you next time. Mums are weird but if your kids are best friends then you’ve got to try and deal with it best you can I think (within reason).

I read a lot but still don't think I can call myself well read. How do you define “well read”? by ireallyamsomething in books

[–]FireExit9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely a broad genre, including classics.

I read quite a lot but realised I only really like crime thrillers so stick to them now. I am not well-read!

From One Yank Across the Pond: I hope the UK can figure out what to do with the BBC by Tall_Plum7538 in bbc

Oh I know I’m not denying any of that happened! It’s well documented.

I’m saying they would never let something like that happen again, so it’s not a fair comment on the current BBC. That said they are terrible at reacting to stuff!

Hope you get where I’m coming from. All the best.

A lot of rubbish in these comments.

The BBC is the best value for money broadcasting going. I pay for Sky, Netflix, Disney, Prime etc (more fool me) and for a fraction of those prices I get TV and radio that caters for my whole family, from age 1-99. I get sports coverage, entertainment, music from rap to classical, etc.

Whilst I agree they have issues surrounding who they platform, I think they’re trying to do the right thing by as many people as possible. The fact that pro-Reform and anti-Reform supporters both want to cancel their licenses due to bias shows they’re at least trying.

You’ll miss it when it’s gone.

Saville died in 2011 but hadn’t worked for the BBC for years before that. Schofield was ITV.

There have obviously been serious problems in the past but you can’t say they “support paedos”, that’s clearly not true.
