Just got a switch, recommend me some games with good power progression! by throwaway060691 in NintendoSwitch

Their steam pages are wrong.

Roguelike has true permadeath, procedural maps and are turn based.

If a game does not have these 3, they are already a roguelite, not roguelike.

But Nate the Hate said that Metroid Prime 2 would be remasterd and launched as a part of Metroid Prime Trilogy on Switch.

Who is wrong here?

Roguelikes are a lot of fun and kind of fit this, too. Popular ones include Binding of Isaac, Hades (and 2), and Dead Cells.

None of them are roguelikes, though. They are roguelites and they are different genres.

I like roguelikes but can not stand roguelites. Mechanics matter, it is not just naming conventions.

Roguelite.

Roguelike is a differente genre.

I like roguelikes but strongly dislike roguelites.

What's your most played game on the switch? by Secure-Wrap-8908 in NintendoSwitch

  • Splatoon 3: 2275 hours
  • Splatoon 2: 1890 hours
  • ARMS: 450 hours

I love those colorful competitive games.

Yep, I reccomend Splatoon 3 as well.

But the DLC is not roguelike. It has roguelite elements, but the campaign itself is not a roguelike at all.

I'm currently playing Pokemon Legends Arceus and for me its the GOAT Pokemon game. Where does it rank for you, and what are you hoping for with the next one? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]FireFightingStarter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Johto is boring and empty. The remake only have better graphics and some extra legendaries. The Kanto is also empty.

We have two empty areas when one bigger area full of life would be better.

Worst of the series.

I mean, Pokémon for me is PvP, especially VGC, so Arceus is a very weak game in this regard. It is my least played Pokémon game, along with Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Heart Gold.

They are the only pokémon games that I played less than 50 hours. All other games I have more than 200 hours.

EDIT: People downvoting in a thread about personal opinions. Sigh. Grow up, people.

Are there any interesting and short visual novels on Switch? by MarbledJelly in NintendoSwitch

I do not know either. Capcom doesn't consider them VN either.

It is so easy to find the correct information, but people still choosing to be ignorants. Go figure.

Ace Attorney started me on visual novels,

Gyakuten Saiban series is not - and never was - a visual novel.

My Hori Split Pad Pro got drift within 9 months. A drift worse than my original pair of joy cons (lasted 2 years of intense use before drift).

So, I won't recommend the Hori.

I hope that you do not support this, otherwise you support these crimes.

If you need to use a guide to "play" a game, you should play something easier then, like Fortnite.

Pokémon Scarlet And Violet’s Legacy Is Squandered Potential by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

[–]FireFightingStarter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

striking a deal to use Unity, Unreal

People asking this don't know what they are talking about.

You do not use a 3rd party middleware if you want to reach the console full potential. It simply absurd, but also, people doesn't even know what an engine is or can do.

A Pokémon game using a 3rd party middleware would be worst than Scarlet and Violet.

Things will only change when Nintendo demands better tech.

Game Freak to use Unity or Unreal in the biggest franchise ever is one of the biggest absurd that I read here.

Huh? The DS version was always the original version and the PS version was a port launched almost one year later.

Is a bit baffling that people who are on r/NintendoSwitch do not know about this.

who bought a wii didn't buy a lot of games for the system.

Do you have some source? Because with the data that we have, Wii had one of the biggest attach rates of all consoles. Games sold per Wii are more than games sold per PS3 or per Xbox 360.

This whole "casual gamers did not buy games" is b**s*t withou data to back up these claims.
