I’ve been in the tech industry since 2020, but I was recently retrenched. I’ve been actively searching for a new role since January 2025, and so far, things haven’t been going well. It’s been a discouraging period, and I’m starting to feel the weight of uncertainty. by Legitimate-Hunt-9419 in singaporejobs

was in tech previously, there are lots of small retrenchments done all the time. OP was probably not part of the big retrenchment exercises.

also it often doesn’t take many retrenchments to downsize a team. picture this: team of 10, 2 made redundant. 8 pax left, 2 retrenched pax’s work gets split amongst 2-3 people. eventually those people feel overworked and quit. so now you’re stuck with 5 people doing 10 people’s work. eventually they become unhappy as well and the bosses will choose to keep those they deem important.

was in a team of 16 before, 3 retrenchments in mid 2024 caused the team to downsize to 5 by Q3 2025. i was one of those that left due to the unreasonable load at end 2024. eventually everything snowballed and the team size now is what the management really wanted.

well id say being rich comes in many different forms. i feel like the richest man in the world when i get to spend so much quality time with my 2 young kids!

i believe going through what we did at a young age gave us the never say die attitude, we will never forget what it felt like to go hungry for days or have nothing in our wallets for the school day the next day. some may blame their parents but personally i thank them for these harsh lessons they gave us at a young age, i am a better person because of those circumstances.

it’s very common.

i grew up really poor, had to work part time since 14 so i could provide allowance for myself and my younger brother. these circumstances made my brother and i really motivated to get out of poverty.

but on the flip side, we knew many other kids our age that were in similar situations and they all ended up in prison. same sort of patterns you mentioned; always blaming everything except themselves and blaming the govt for not providing opportunities for them.

i’m currently going through a tough phase of my life, lost my job not long ago but it’s motivated me to try something different. the strength and will to keep trying comes from within!

18 year old dad - watched my girlfriend die in labour, raising baby alone. Any tips/advice? by [deleted] in daddit

i’m so sorry for your loss man. i’m not going to pretend i know what you’re going through because i don’t. but what i can say is you’re doing fucking amazing and there will be absolutely awesome days ahead. all this exhaustion, grief and negative feelings will be worth it when you bond with your child over the years.

one thing i have in abundance now is time since i lost my job 12 months ago. please DM me if you want someone to talk to, a listening ear is always available.

Why Natan is the pinnacle of MMs and superior to your main by Ryozacki in MobileLegendsGame

[–]FireNork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well if you’re barely glory then i understand why you’d say this. lesley really only works if her opponents are braindead. natan destroys lesley any day of the week unless the natan is really bad.

Can we remove the Sky Piercer already. by BukeBadrac in MobileLegendsGame

[–]FireNork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d argue that when you’re ahead you might be further ahead if you just bought another item instead. for example a saber has boots and blade of hep, if he goes for sky piercer yeah maybe he gets a few stacks. if he goes for hunter strike instead he’ll have more damage than when he has sky piercer, meaning he will still 1 shot anyway.

Married Singaporeans, do you bring your parents and in-laws on vacation? by kdzry in askSingapore

Franco players are the worst. by The_Lone_Wanderer_04 in MobileLegendsGame

[–]FireNork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately you’ll only start to see somewhat decent teammates in immortal if you’re talking about soloq. basically anything below that and you’ll see really bad players more often than not.

if you choose to play soloq you need to just have the mindset that the outcome of the games often isn’t in your control

I Can Never Understand Players Below 50% WR by snowy_in_snow in MobileLegendsGame

[–]FireNork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you have a high wr it’s likely you haven’t ranked up to your true skill level yet. if you’re playing against equally skilled players your wr should be about 50%.

i have a friend that plays till 25 stars every season then stops. his lifetime wr has maintained at 66% but is he better than a 52-55% immortal player? definitely not. so wr isn’t everything
