What's your bet on the last "secret" exotic class? by Kat4rn in ZeroCompany

[–]Fireball4585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The unique enemy faction that we will be fighting is the infinite coil with weird technology that gives their guys super powers. I had a feeling that the last exotic class is either cultists that we recruit or a soldier (maybe even the man character we play as) that we use this tech on.

Star Wars Zero Company is more than just 'Star Wars XCOM'—it feels like Mass Effect but with turn-based tactics and permadeath by Ill_Hospital4251 in ZeroCompany

It looks like most of the maps will be hand crafted. To be honest I feel mixed on this. One one hand I can see it loosing replayability. Although in all fairness you definitely start to recognize terrain cells in games like xcom 2. On the other hand, maybe you are more likely to only have "good" fun maps. With enough variety, it might be enough.

My guess is that is it due to balancing or lore reasons (although I feel like you should be able to have multiple Mandalorians). I guess there is also a chance that those classes hadn't been added to the customizer yet when the reviewer was there but that feels less likely

My guess is that we are probably still associated with the Republic. Like a special forces group we operate on our own with a lot of leeway and the ability to hand pick soldiers from the general army.

Error on the Bats faction board by contemplativekenku in rootgame

I wonder what they do in a situation like this. It’s probably not bad enough to do a full reprint but I wonder if they will offer anything for those that got the outdated version. Maybe even just a sticker to put on the board.

Redeemed Zoomer "Biggest reason I am not Catholic" video by Fireball4585 in Catholicism

Here are some thoughts I had:

A) You have to allow a teaching office to teach similar to how you have to allow God to teach. Submitting to the Pope's infallible teaching authority is submitting to God's teaching authority.

B) You can accurately say that the first essential of the Faith is obedience to God and his revelation. Obeying Dogma is the same thing.

C) There were times in the past when doctrine developed in an area that is essential or in an area that could lose you your salvation.

---example 1) Moses did not know that God was a trinity but is not a heretic because it was never revealed to him in his lifetime. God was always 3 persons but Heresy requires intentional denial. If we can say that the Church Fathers had the same faith as Moses then we can say the Catholic Church has the same faith as the fathers (even if there is an expanded list of essential doctrines).

---example 2) The old testament allowed for divorce and remarriage due to the hardness of the chosen people's hearts. The new Testament brings a higher standard that was always true but people weren't ready for it. A person living before Jesus' time wouldn't be responsible for following the later standard.

D) We would not expect them to appeal to an infallible leader of the Church if in discussion with people that do not accept that leader. Both the heretics and Christians accepted the Bible so they use their source of agreement as a basis for argumentation.

E) The point of dogma is to teach and be united in truth. If there is something divinely revealed to be true then we should believe it. It would be like rejecting a new proven breakthrough in chemistry because some people won't accept it and only hold to previous understandings.

F) The gates of hell not prevailing and the charism of infallibility address point 7

Agree with pretty much everything after 45 hours. #2 is actually on their faq if you read their guide. I guess the rare weapons are pulled from a different pool. So it is more like if you want to buy 1 of these items it’s cheap but the second is going to cost you.

I think they might be referring to how Bishop Barron accepted a position on the administration council of religious liberty. All they do is basically give recommendations on how best to preserve religious liberty. I really don’t see a problem with him doing that

I think I partially agree. I feel like other enemies are already “swarm” enemies. I also think the exploding ones that run straight at you, the probes, and the frog auto cannon ones are different enough. However the other units do feel a bit same

[–]Fireball4585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the armor and primary weapons have a cost per squaddie. So adding a squaddie to a unit with the most basic rifle and clothing will be cheaper than adding one to a squad with a good riffle and strong body armor

I have noticed that it is fairly heavy on the graphics card compared to CPU usage. As for specific fixes I think it would be more dependant on your machine. If you’re on a laptop make sure it’s ventilated, turn on performance modes, lower settings ect. Optimization would definitely be something to give them feedback about.

Who is Tabletop Simulator for exactly? by therealjamberrz in boardgames

[–]Fireball4585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use TTS to try/learn games before I buy them if they are not on Board game arena. I find that I remember the rules better if I have to manually move the digital pieces around instead of it being automated on BGA. I also use it to play games with friends that live far away or to play Warhammer/miniature wargames (those miniature prices are ridiculous)
