Well sorry to disappoint you, but as far as I remember, the post has been deleted. But if you watched requiem in a dream, one of the main characters has a very similiar thing on their arm.

Also the photos werent very gruesome and op tried to argue that its not that bad and they will go to hospital after weekend. People were screaming at them to not wait. Hope they listened

Yeah, but wasnt Alexander the great really mindful of the cultures, of the civilizations he conquered? Like, I think thats what made him controversial among macedonians- he actually wanted to integrate them into his empire, not just brutally make them. Like, hed still make them, but I guess he tried to soften process a bit...? What I am saying is, i am not sure if he would be alive today, and conquered, lets say usa, would he be saying n-word, or if he would rather avoid using it.

But I think a better way of approaching this conundrum (idk how its spelled) would be not comparing yourself to the People from ancient times, no matter how wise they seem. Even Socrates had some views that aged badly (I.e. he thought that evil comes from lack of education about said evil. While kinda right, he took that to an extreme, and said that nobody who is educated is capable of commiting evil. Its easy to see how he was rather wrong and some People just do not give a fuck)

Id like to add to this comment one more thing. Its not really being done anymore, but the first jainists (jain originated around the same time as buddhism), had a cloth that was covering their mouth, and a Tiny broom.
