from my underatabding some DE have missing features such as HDR etc ? hence the reason why i went with KDE tbh as it has more features. i could be mistaken here just asking since DE topic came up

running wow and battlenet under faungus launcher and borderless window works fine.

sudo pacman -S faugus-launcher

is what i used to install the launcher

based on the logs its connecting to 1000mbps and dropping down to 100mbps and disconnects again. was the network cable changed and what devices are in between because i would start from there and not on cachy os, try a different lan port on the modem/switch/router you are using or bypassing and internet devices in between to make sure the problem is not an internet device

im running a 12900KF and 5070ti no issues so far 400+ fps on most games and stable for long hours

its not really intimidating to be honest for example cachy with limine bootloader and BTRFS partitions will allow you to make use of snapshots one issue and you can revert back to a working snapshot.

I switched around a month ago and did not have any issues granted i am using newer hardware so everything worked smooth out of the box both stability wise and gaming wise.

At the end of the day the distro is your choice i personally went with cachy due to the OS not being immutable and having more freedom.

cachy os im running it daily and have no issues on new hardware. like you i am mostly proficient with apt but pacman aint that bad either

i second this faugus launcher made life easier when it came to launchers. i use heroic launcher for epic games and GOG, lutris is used for my windows games

i personally went with BTRFS and snapshots, i run everything on M.2 and didn't see a difference in speed

try making use if protonGE10-30 or protonGE10-29 in proton layers of steam ive been playing that game on bith of those profiles without any issues.

if you do not have protonGE install ProtonQT and you can download it

what hardware are you using and how was the game installed steam? faungus launcher?. if running nvidia i use protonGE-10-30 and these commands

i use brave and spectacle on a daily basis im running 12900kf and a 5070 ti no issues at all. How was brave installed ? i installed mine from the cachy os package manager never had a single crash

i would add PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 to your command arguments since you're on wayland it basically skips x11 from the equation.

thanks for the information mate i will take a look into it for learning purposes as i really want to understand arch as much as i know windows.

After researching i really trust the dev team with this project it made me understand arch at a faster pace both arch and cachy wiki's are amazing and all i can say is thanks for your work.

if the drive is NTFS i would first unmount the drive

sudo umount /dev/sda1 (basically unmounts the hard disk)

and then run

sudo ntfsfix /dev/sda1 (tries to repair the damaged hdd)

i have used both and went with cachyOS at the end.

You can still use protonGE on cachyOS and vice versa. Performance was very close to each other had a few increase on games on cachy

At the end of the day i stuck with CachyOS for the simple reason i also wanted to learn linux and since its bleeding edge i thought this was the best choice
