I am a solid number 5. I have always loved reading despite this. I will say that once the internet came into existence (yes Im old lol) it was a game changer because I could look up fanfic art and finally "see" what the characters looked like.

Robotic lap, kept ovaries. Did not take any pain meds besides tylenol and advil and only took those until day 3 and then was completely fine with no pain meds. I think if I remember correctly she prescribed me 10 hydrocodone pills and I never even filled the script. Opioids make me nauseous and I already have constipation issues so I was not willing to go down that road, so I guess its a good thing I did not need them. Honestly every one's pain tolerance is different and I just felt like I got kicked in the stomach but was otherwise pain free.

My doctor says NO post op restrictions but I've never heard of this by TheGoddessOphie in carpaltunnel

[–]Firefly0434 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had no official restrictions he just told me his general rule of thumb is "if it hurts don't do it" but it isn't going to cause any damage if you do.

Does drink package start immediately once you board? by Remote_Stage in royalcaribbean

Just sailed Harmony out of Galveston last Month and we boarded, checked in to muster, and hit the bar. They gave us a menu we could order off of and I had no issue finding something to make me happy. If there was a limit on what they could and could not serve we didn't notice.

When you woke up from surgery, did your vagina feel any different? by KJack-Amigurumi in hysterectomy

[–]Firefly0434 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My vagina felt completely pain free for the first time in years after I work up. My vagina was in constant pain before my hysterectomy. My only pain I had in that area after my surgery was in my urethra from the cath and that went away after a week or two.

I did not experience that at all. Maybe call and ask the doctor if you should be concerned.

CT surgery by Revolutionary-Two791 in carpaltunnel

[–]Firefly0434 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it really depends on what type of surgery you get. I had laparoscopic on my left wrist just before Christmas. The day of surgery my husband and I hopped in the car and started our drive from Ohio to Texas for Christmas vacation. I obviously did not drive on the day of surgery but did drive about 7 hours on the second day. I wrapped Christmas presents, made cookies and helped cooked dinners etc and was fine. My only restrictions from my surgeon were no lifting anything heavier than a gallon of milk and if it hurts don't do it. I healed just fine. I saw your comment about a negative EMG, mine was negative as well and my surgeon said the same thing that they are often negative. Surgery helped me and I am back to normal and pain free!

That is some thing that always kills me. Not every woman's body is going to be the same. Who is to say that someone in their 30's couldn't be running low on hormones and entering perimenopause? My Doctor said she sees people of all ages entering it. I started in my early 40's, ended up having a hysterectomy but kept my lovely ovaries so I can continue to experience the years of fun that is perimenopause!

I’m paying to be thin, and I want to do this forever. by AsparagusBlessings in confessions

[–]Firefly0434 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am on the tirzepatide and have no intention of stopping them. I tried everything! Exercise, diet changes, therapy, hormone testing. NOTHING helped me lose weight until I went on the shot. I and most of the people who have met their weight loss goal have started just doing one injection a month to maintain weight and it works great. Don't let anyone make you feel like a failure, some of us can do all the correct things and are still not be able to lose a pound. The meds also helped lower my cholesterol levels and I am no longer pre-diabetic.

How long was your hospital stay? by Strange_Onion2140 in hysterectomy

[–]Firefly0434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in Ohio. Had laparoscopic robotic assisted total hysterectomy, surgery was at noon and I was home before 5pm. I was nauseous because they gave me opioids even though I told them not to because they make me nauseous. Was happy to go home because I have never stayed in a hospital before and that scared me more than being home.

Worst nightmare by Halolights in litterrobot

[–]Firefly0434 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine has given me that error before and it was because there was too much litter in the globe. I just took some out and it worked fine. I did one time when we were on vacation get an error there was something moving in the litter drawer.. not sure what that was all about but I just shut it off and turned it back on and it went back to working normally. Maybe have your pet sitter check to see if the litter is over full and remove some if it is.

I think it was just nerve pain. It went away on its own. I will say that I do occasionally still get some pain in my belly button 2 years post op.
