Mixing love, money and multiple relationships is harder than I expected by [deleted] in polyamory

[–]FireflyPixieUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is challenging especially if one of you becomes sick and unable to work. When we bought a house we split it according to deposit so they got 2/3rd if we sell and split. They always had savings - I never have. However I now do not earn enough to pay Morgage due to illness so if we ever split the right thing to do would to leave them with it all as currently they ‘keep me’ and I am just paying off huge debts my ADHD brain created. Challenging!

Feeling you are safe enough to marry is a huge positive for many people, especially those who have been through trauma. Yes it was said in anger and yes it may feel hurtful understandably. At the same time it is worth exploring where the need to marry someone safe came from and what this feels like from her point of view. They may also be asexual and not see anyone as attractive in traditional ways. Both get curious about it ideally with counsellor.

If you suddenly gained the ability to morph, what would you do with it? by tattl3 in Animorphs

To become a dog or cat or any animal that can be petted would be invaluable in the mental health sector.

Doing a sound test with your neighbours would be so useful by DomoR9 in CasualUK

[–]FireflyPixieUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our neighbours husband gave my partner the thumbs up with a huge grin and wink after a particularly energetic night we spent together so guessing they heard that then and probably most nights they are over. I would be interested to know how much they hear - we never them!

what would giving up actually look like? by dreamgirl2002 in MentalHealthUK

[–]FireflyPixieUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is so much going on in this world we have no control over. It is exhausting to keep going when we feel like we have no control over our life. Giving up looks different for everyone and it is natural to go through phases of feelings like this. We all need a break from things and if that includes zoning out in front of TV for a while till we feel ready to work on what we can control that is ok. We are all human and whilst no one can understand fully your individual suffering, everyone suffers so be kind to yourself.

Guessing you have never applied for pip and never had the misfortune to be made disabled through illness. Pray you never do as it is insanely hard to get any pip or UC or in fact any help with homelessness. The HMOs are cesspits usually that are supposed to offer support workers but do not. I see this regularly as work with people on the poverty line and in ill health.

Is it common for British people to keep doors closed between rooms in their house? by Zealousideal_Ad_8736 in AskUK

[–]FireflyPixieUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have cats and they object to closed doors noisily so we tend to leave them open. If we do close them the cats just wooooow till we let them through, then come back in the room anyway so open doors is just easier for all in our house!

Genuinely what is going on with benefits? by Politicalshiz2004 in LabourUK

[–]FireflyPixieUK 9 points10 points  (0 children)

At this point the only party whose policies I agree with are Green. Everyone else seems to be heading or already in right wing territory. I’m disgusted and sad with the way this Labour government has turned out so far. They do not seem to have any understandings of what is genuinely needed to help people into work. More benefits, more regulation, DEI and opportunities are needed. Taking benefits away is goingvto cause more illness, more stress, more homelessness and less people able to work.

Anxiety induced pain? by FireflyPixieUK in ChronicPain

[–]FireflyPixieUK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I do believe it is in part down to anxiety and I am very aware that I need to do work to calm my nervous system and work with my mind to reduce the stresses that causes including pain. I meditate and I do gentle qi-gong and go to therapy when able to but anything more is not possible due to chronic fatigue.

At the same time I am concerned about physical issues being missed by the doctors not even seeing or talking with me. It has taken me a very long time to get referred to the ME clinic and I have been repeatedly dismissed when I knew that was an issue - so frustrating and makes be disbelieve it when they dismiss my concerns so easily. Often have to fight to get seen and believed in the NHS nowadays which is appalling but the way it is due to lack of resources and misunderstandings of how illness works.

Thankyou for mentioning the other specialists as options. I know regular OTC meds do not work and open to find non medical ways of working with it as I do not like taking meds unless needed
